Finally found a use for the hood scoop!

Hunted around for a spot under the hood to mount a extra Baja Designs Dome Light I had since I switch the one in the GFC with Amber color.

I didn’t really have the energy to fab up a bracket so that it would sit level and not shine in my eyes when the hood was open so I figured here was the best spot.
Also didn’t really want to drill the hood itself anywhere either.

Worked out quite nice. I will probably swap screws for some shorter ones and locknuts later. Can’t see the nuts insude at all unless you really look.
Those were just the ones BD sent with the light.

Wired it into to my blue sea fuse block and zinnnnng!

Got an alignment after installing lift kit and wheels/tires. Total toe was off about 2. Not sure if that’s bad or not but it’s back into recommended range. Hand washed for the first time at 30k miles and clay barred for first time on any vehicle. Very happy with the outcome. Ran out of time and wasn’t able to wax though.

Ehhhh, I dunno. I’m not sure that the 3rd Gen back is much different then the 2nd gen. I had a snugtop on my 08’ for 10 years, carried bikes and kayaks on the top with a Yakima rack, never had an issue.

We are seeing a lot more trucks with white lettering showing. To each his own, but I prefer a black wall. The last tires I had with the white letters out were “Tiger Paws” on my ‘69 z28 in HS. Looked great on that.

I’ve had a fiberglass ARE cap, Prinsu Top Rack and RTT on one and took it through Moab with no problem.
Also have a GFC on my truck now. No problem. No bed stiffeners.

I installed my prinsu rack today. Overall... Pretty fucking irritating since I couldn't get all the screws to line up in to their holes on the cab since I fucked up the drilling on the weather stripping. I've got 3 screws for the rack that I failed to mount into the cab holes. I ended up putting a bunch of silicone in the top of the spacers to keep it safe overnight and I'll fix it tomorrow.

Then I tried wiring my shell 3rd brake light for about 3 hours. Total fail between tapping into a ground wire like a dumb dumb, failing to get the right gauge wire, failing to splice correctly. My shell 3rd brake light still doesn't work so I took a break for the night.

I've wired up harder stuff before so these 2 wires shouldn't be hard. But they are kicking my ass20190830_195732-1008x756.jpg 20190830_195725-1008x756.jpg something fierce.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Yea, I decided I didnt want to mess with getting the holes to line up and I wanted to be able to see that the spacers seated correctly. I just cut a piece for the front and back of the rack for a clean look. You cant see the rest standing on the ground.

Yes I’ve got some new brushed copper ray 10s for my calvary blue and was planning white out..but can’t find a size that doesn’t require cmc...

@whitepony04- I thought those only came in blackwall? How you like them? Are they heavy?

I think I may have the weather strips from my roof rack install in the garage if you want a second stab at it. I'll check tomorrow. $Free.99 if I do have them.
