Does anyone insure their bikes? Or do you guys just plan to file under your homeowners insurance should something happen to your bike/s?

Homeowner's / renters here. Even asked USAA specifically about it last time I was on the phone with them.

Mine isn’t listed specifically under my home owners, but the insurance company has confirmed it would be covered. I’ve just been thinking of getting a unique policy for the bike. Brings the deductible way down, but obviously at an additional cost annually.

word of advice, don't sit on your rear tire at high rates of speed. quick glimpse of when your HR2 goes through two layers of shorts and into your leg/cheek

I should double check with my state farm agent about what it would cost annualy to add it on to my personal articles policy. Right now it would be covered under my homeowners, but I'm not sure if i'd honestly file a claim for it, with a 2k deductible I dunno if it would be worth the risk of a policy increase.

My HO policy deductible is only $1k, but similar thought process is what prompted my inquiry. I checked with my agent on a stand alone policy and will be evaluating whether it’s worth it for me.

So one year I decided to try and ditch the padded shorts and ride with tech unders. I rode the big bike at Trestle, took a ladder drop, went a little too deep, and slammed my ass into the rear tire on compression.
The bike has a rear seatstay bridge.
Let’s just say the dangly bits got a close view of the clearance of the rear tire and the bridge.
I had to check if everything was still attached. Luckily I got away with just some bruising and scuffing.
I wear padded shorts always now...

Renters here. Just make sure you get "replacement cost." Otherwise they give you depreciated cost. And call to make sure they cover everything, including upgrades, and what proof of ownership and value you will need.
I had two bikes stolen a few years ago. Bummed because I loved the bikes, stoked on the replacements.

Still been way overthinking the new bike thing. Was almost dead set on a Stumpy Expert 29er, but now I'm about to pull the trigger on a SC Hightower LT thats discounted from 4899 to 3799. Carbon S build, they have 2 left at my local shop. Both are the poop brown color.

Anyone have feedback on the Hightower LT?

Long story short. FedEx can be a royal PITA and crazy unprofessional. 1upUSA is top shelf. You get what you pay for in every aspect from products to customer service.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I demo’d one. Super nice, probably one of the best all mountains I have ridden.
Actually would have picked it up, if I had not been so set on the Bronson.
    Just wanted more downhill action.
You picking that up at The Hub, I saw those demos there, in poop brown!

Big price drop due to the all new Hightower and Megatower. Dodo brown is not my favorite but I can live with it.
