Recognition built into the H.H. that gives permission?

 

i'm still puzzled as im quite sure mat is not tuning with a handheld.

Okay. OVTune does all of the tuning at their site. Then uploads it for distribution. We log on and get verification for access. Download to the H.H. Transfer to the truck. You are able to modify the code if you want after you have it on the H.H. to what ever code you want to put on your truck? Shit that sounds scary to me!

 

A bit scary considering the constant post about how to how to use p5flash. I foresee a new thread blaming OVtune of their own negligence. lol

 

Well-YEA. But with all of the information on this thread, I get all the info that I need to be GOOD TO GO! RESEARCH is a good thing! IMHO.

The *only* comment/suggestion/feedback for me is 1st gear tip-in is just a touch hot. I've experienced wheel spin off the line on wet roads a few times and have had to stay very mindful of throttle position to keep it planted. I'm sort of used to it now, but I'm thinking in the winter, in the ice and snow it might get a little sketchy.

Current set-up: OR, auto, 4.88, 305/70-16 KO2s, steel bumpers, winch, steel sliders, shell. Heavy-ish, but not a tank. 04B04.

Overall I'm thrilled with this tune - it's amazeballs!

 

How can this be? I am 2017 OR access cab 4X4 steel front and rear, winch, camper shell 275/70/R17, and do NOT have the TIP people are talking about? I have been on all the tunes for my 04B03/04B04 Up Date, and never had the TIP IN problems that is being reported. The only thing that I can think of is---MY truck was made in TEXAS? Where was yours made? Oh yea 4.88 gears too.

 

I agree, that's why I use 91. Was just curious about another post stating $4 per tank and where he was located.

 

I already have the OVTune and just ordered 5.29 gears, i have heard other members discussing a 4.88 tailored tune, will there be a 5.29 tune coming out also? Any issues just flashing the 0B430 2.0 to the truck with 5.29 gears?

 

Not sure if my 19 even needs a tune, but for 630 it's worth playing with... I'm on order too

Same here..... mostly. I have a few PNP harness jobs, and sliders arrive next week. Debating between UpTop and Not right now.

 

Users who have the flash kit now, we are working on a software update so you can also view/edit/create your own tunes.

The handhelds will come pre-loaded with a version of 2.0 EROM. We will also release that version to everyone with a flash kit too.


To be able to make your own tune (change shift points, change fuel maps, edit actual stuff) requires using a computer. You don't do the actual in depth map tuning from the handheld. You use it to load tunes to the truck.
