Just get a rope and start jumping. Do intervals if you want or just marathon it

If you like to wheel fairly hard , don’t go aluminum. The structure of aluminum just cannot handle the pulling and tension from winching or snatching like steel plus aluminum is soft so it gouges easier than steel if you drag it or push it against rocks.

But for most people aluminum is fine.

I don’t think the math will ever add up for MPG savings as aluminum is usually a thousand or 2 more and it would take a while for that 1mpg gain to offset that cost realistically.

The hitting a car at 50mph thing is so wishy washy cause it depends on how you hit, the angle, breaks, etc etc.

Go aluminum if you want to but I think the “pros” to it are way exaggerated.

    “Aluminum doesn’t rust”

Okay but your truck is steel sooo

    “Aluminum is lighter”

Okay but you’re 200lbs over weight

“It will get you more followers on the gram”

Okay so that’s the only solid point you have.

I just got a quote from my contractor and was wondering if I was looking at a quote from a surgeon then I remembered your ambulance ride.

I hope its not as bad of an ER bill but with HDHP you know it just sucks. If anything comes up its like well fuck I’m hitting my deductible.

Ive got a demello bumper. I took out a guard rail at ~40 mph. It got a scratch. Did end up cracking my shock, busting my rim and flattening my tire, but if I had the stock bumper I would have busted the bumper, grille, hood, and probably both front fenders.

All valid points and no disrespect intended but I wanted to shed some light on aluminum.

About 2 years ago I went with the SOS full front bumper (with the 3 headlight / grill hoops), sliders and a rear bumper. The front bumper weighs less than both sliders (maybe about the same as one slider). It’s seriously light enough to pick up and carry with one person. It also has various bracing welded on the inside to strengthen the bumper and comes with plates that attach the bumper to the frame to aid in wenching, pulling, etc. If I remember correctly it was only a few 100 more to go aluminum but that was also roughly two years ago. With load range E tires already I didn’t want to add tons more weight to my truck for something that might eventually take out a deer or drunk driver.

I’d think about the end use more than anything, if you’re going to be using the front bumper regularly steel may be the way to go but aluminum is much much lighter. On the flip side, no one buys a Tacoma because gas mileage :notsure:. If the main goal is looks, with some light wheeling sprinkled in and a little added protection in a crash, go aluminum. If you plan to wheel regularly, steel may be a better option regardless anything beats the stock plastic.

If by “cool story” you mean some dumb woman somehow didn’t see my big white truck and tried to cut a U turn in the middle of the road and clipped my back tire, spinning me head on into the guard rail, then sure.

Guys my GF is going to turn me into a fat fuck. Gained about 13lbs of water weight from Friday. Just took a day off to hang out after a week of heavy lifting/bunch of cardio after each lift- fuck. Had some very good meals yesterday, some chicken burritos and sushi got me towards the end though. Work so hard to stay lean and shredded the past few years, I just feel like a total bitch turning down food in front of people when everyone's eating. Lets see how great the weights are going to feel today though

For me lift 5 days, cardio 5-6 days including run, bike, spin, stair-stepper and this bananas high intensity class on the soccer field of my gym. More veggies, less carbs, reasonable protein, not really much for supplements. When outdoors try to bring a bike or hike
