hey guys, I made the mistake of buying 15” wheels attached to some 35x12.5 Goodyear mtr kevlars. I had to get some 1.25” spacers just to be able to mount them but the wheels still rub my calipers enough to make it undriveable, is there anything I can do to make it work?

Install correct wheels would be the #1 answer.

Unless you are 'kissing' the caliper in some spot that a bit of filing will remedy the situation.

Nope. 15 inch wheels dont fit on that truck. Get new rims/wheels.

It was a great deal for the set and I jumped on it without doing any research, I’ve been told elsewhere to grind/file down parts of the calipers but I’m worried about hindering the structural integrity with doing that

Yup... you can do that, but that's always a concern.

I’ll play with it and see what I can accomplish, if nothing I’ve already put them back up for sale XD

16, 17 or 18's will fit on your truck with no issues. But make sure the offsets are correct or you will be rubbing on the uca.

    2WD models can rock them!

You could also try grinding the ever living piss out of the calipers but I've never seen 15's work on a 4WD or Prerunner. Bad luck.

You mean, like, at all? I'd go with "at all".

If you really wanted to, you could almost certainly swap on 1st gen front brakes, swapping 1st gens to larger 2nd gen/4R brakes is a thing, so the caliper & rotor spacing must be at least close enough to work. OTOH there's a reason swapping bigger brakes on 1st gens is a thing, and that's a smaller & lighter truck. Big & heavy with 35s wouldn't be where I'd want to go to 11.5"ish (IIRC) rotors.

Edit: Even the 1st gen brakes are picky about wheel choice with 15s. Alloys usually clear, OE steelies clear, but run of the mill American Racing kinda steelies where they stamped & dimpled the holes would juuuust hit. Wheelers used to sell steel wheels that had the holes flat & not dimpled, and they still just barely cleared, by like 1/8".

Very true, my brothers second gen has been running 15” welds and steelies for around two years now. No grinding and no spacers. 2014 double cab 4wd
