Think I might go ahead and order this up along with some coax and a firestick. Would be useful to have, esp for the 18th meet.

just ordered the same one. going to pick up the firestick antenna this weekend hopefully i can get brandon to make me a bed bar by next weekend

only issue is that i don't have any place to mount it too. i have an over the lip bed liner, so i don't know where to place it at. if brandon can't fab something quick, then i'm at a loss for mounting the antenna

Just FYI the kit from firestik includes the coax, mount, spring, and antenna.

 

i'm thinking of a backup plan just in case i can't get a real mount set up before then. might go with the hood mount that i saw and just place it on the driver side until i can something else a little more out of the way

 

Ah nice, I was going to stop at fry's and get the coax but that saves me the trip haha. Any chance you might be able to help tune before the 18th?

We can go over that when installed. But I just tap into the battery.

it shouldn't since its being fed continous power.

 

Er, I know... I want it to shut off when acc is off I'll forget and leave it on knowing me lol.

i'm thinking that i won't have a bed bar by next week, so i need some other alternatives for mounting a cb antenna. i've seen the magnetic roof mounts and even the hood mounts. does anyone have experience with either one of these?

 

lol no it won't turn off with the truck. I always turn mine off, when I'm done with a trail run.
