There are hundreds of trails on either side of the valley by bishop. We gotta do a trip up there, maybe next summer in august. Hopefully we have a normal snow fall and everything isnt delayed six weeks. The bugs should be gone by now.

Clear...there is still some snow around the lakes and all the flowers are blooming. But with flowers means bugs

Yeah the Coyotes Flats area above Bishop is some of the best camping/wheeling I've ever been on.

Yeah I was up there with a couple other guys this exact time last year. The views from some of those trails up at that elevation is indescribable almost. And one of the hardest trails I've ever done was up there on the way back down to Bishop. Wish I could remember the name of it.

I know the trail i think, its the downhill part of the loop that leads in to big pine yeah? I was solo so I skipped it, and went back the way I came. But I had a lot of ground to cover so I also skipped out on all the trail offshoots up there.

I believe so yeah, the difficult parts are short but with big rocks/shelves and I needed tugs on a couple, not to mention you've got sheer mountain edge drop offs on them as well. Beautiful views though.

Yeah youre at 10k at coyote flats. Its awesome to wheel up there at the base of the high sierra passes. It may be a yearly summer destination for me now. Im definitely hooked on that area.

That was the description I got about that trail from some dirt bike guys. Was a hard pass for me

Wife and I are going to take a trip up that way in the next month or so, and take our pregnancy announcement photos up there haha. Might be the last time I can make it out there for awhile :lalala:

Definitely want to hit up Laurel Lakes since we couldn't make it that far last year in May due to the snow pack

Well the mosquitos will be mostly gone in a month. The swarms usually only last about that. Dress warm it was cold af at altitude. Its such a cool spot. There were snowboarders hiking the trail to hit up a chute on blood mtn.

Yeah I remember when we were up at Coyote Flats this weekend last year it was cool during the day and freezing at night, then on the way down about 2 hours later we get near Big Pine and it's almost 100 degrees lol
