Neither. Both are overpriced and under-performing. Falken Wildpeakt AT3W or Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT are way better options.

Have 265/75/16 Duratraks now. Like em but they don't make a 33" skinny so I'll be going to 255/85 Cooper ST Maxx. Haven't had the K02's but from what I hear they're god awful in the snow.

If you don't actually use them off-road, then KBro2s are just expensive highway tires. If you actually use them off-road, you'll be replacing them every 15,000 miles. I hate Duratracs but even they outlast the BFGs when you work them in the rough stuff.

I was going to go with Cooper AT3 but got a good deal on some lightly used Goodyear Duratracs and I love them so far. Only about 5k miles though, we’ll see how they hold up

Don’t listen (or at least don’t weigh their advice heavily) to the people who crap on KO2s. I did and put off getting them. Only to find out people are silly. I pulled the trigger and was surprised. They are a much better ride than stock; smoother, better off-road, and looks significantly better. Also, keep in mind that you won’t know how the tire that you don’t get feels.

    I gave this away free.

    I drive on these.
    .

The K02 haters help to keep price in range and stock available when I need new ones. The haters probably drive mall crawlers too.

Yes they’re better than stock but I’ve also found them to be lacking in performance, especially for the price. I’ve driven a Tacoma with ko2’s and it did noticeably worse than my Coopers in both snow and mud. Maybe if you’re out west in the dry mountains they’d be better but in wet and cold, the BFGs do not live up to the hype. Depends on how OP intends to use them perhaps.

Edit: for what it’s worth I thought I really wanted ko2s for the longest time, I was on the bandwagon and liked the looks, but results speak for themselves.

Opinions are a plenty. I found the opposite. I am on the east coast and while I haven’t had them in the snow, hard driving rain and deep mud (up to the frame) was great. Nothing slowed them down. The only issue I had was tire pressure. The shop aired them up too high (44psi) and they like to be 38 or so.

The one thing I will add is this. Limiting yourself to only those two options could be a detriment. Go for what you like. My truck, tolerances, and tastes aren’t yours.

I have been really happy with K02’s in the sand and snow... and they are super quiet on the street. The only thing they don’t like are sharp rocks

If all someone does is mall crawl with their KBrO's, then they are a perfectly adequate tire. But if you actually use them for what their appearance suggests, they fail miserably. This is from years of experience managing a fleet of 4X4 trucks that get pushed to the max off-road on the daily.

    BFGfail1.jpg

That's only 15,000 miles of use. And this wasn't an isolated incident. Every set I tried on various vehicles fragged in a short period of time. Yes, this photo is of the original KO, but my experience with the KO2s suggests identical lack of performance. As much as I dislike the Goodyear Duratracs, they at least make it to 30,000+ before being unusable. Cooper Discoverer AT3s and Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws also last significantly longer than the overpriced BFG.
