Hahaha. That is for late season, planted buckwheat. I planted soybeans in this same spot last year and was gonna bow hunt them but they came up and at about 5” tall and the deer found them and mowed them off.

While bush hogging I backed down a little path into the woods and found an awesome spot. Guess it was an old road. It’s near a creek. I cleaned what I felt comfortable and moved the blind where all the raccoons are. Got rid of 4 and had 6 on camera afterwards. Done, they win. Haven’t had a picture of a buck since they moved in. I moved that blind to this new spot today. 10 yard shot, oh yeah.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that’s the worst hunting spot I’ve ever seen:rofl:

Unless it’s in a persimmon tree?

Couldn't pay me to climb into a tree and sit in a stand all day. I'll happily take walking around and hiking endless hills

Great start to the season in Idaho. Got into a few groups of elk and a couple bucks but decided to head home due to high temps (high of 89 and low of 54). No way could I pack it out on my own and not have some of the meat spoil. Gonna wait for the temps to drop below 40 at night.

Unfortunately a good friend of mine decided to get married next weekend so I have high hopes for the 13th-16th and I’ll be taking leave the 18th -25th if I need it.

I have to get one in archery so I can hopefully get my wife on an elk during rifle.

    Good luck everyone!

Then figured I may as well shoot the crossbow just in case I wanted to take it. Been shooting bows for 30 years, first and only robin hood :D

Nice! Yeah getting a Robin Hood is definitely cool. When you remember how much arrows cost these days though it takes some of the joy out of it. Lol! Still awesome you do it though!
