passenger tire is not straight. Steering wheel is in correct position. I have no pulling when driving. & no. I am not doing anything under the truck with the jack like that. ;)

Do you have odd tire wear?

I was having a difficult time telling. They’re pretty new & i rotated them not long ago, so not as obvious wear. Plus a hawk came around & I got shinied. However, from what I can tell, it appears as though both front tires middle treads are worn more & the passenger outer tread. It itself seems to have uneven tread. There is a spot where 10 or so consecutive treads are more shallow than the others.

I just had one a couple of months ago & no potholes or anything since. Guy has great rep, although that doesn’t necessarily mean it was done correctly I guess. I’m surprised I don’t have any pulling or anything.

Should I let a little air out of the tires? There’s bout 1/3 less tread on each in the middle. Wouldn’t hurt to drop it to 33, correct?

I would get it on jack stands but leave the suspension unloaded ( support from the frame or crossmember ) then get a long prybar put it under and lift up. Make sure your ball joints are not worn out. Also grab it on either side and push and pull to make sure your tie rod end and wheel bearing are ok. If your suspension is tight and nothing is bent they should be able to align it and correct the problem.

Had it off to do the belts, so I patched it with some steel stick, then primed, painted & fluid filmed. Left the caked on oil & dirt mixture though. Best not mess with what’s under that.

When you jack the truck up the control arms unload and it actually changes the toe.

    K. I believe that this guy does that as part of the alignment, but good to double check.

I would check the toe in using a folding carpenters rule with extension for inside measrements. Rear of tire should not exceed 1/8 inch greater than front of tire. Tires on ground under load while taking inside measurements

I actually noticed this when it was on the ground. I was trying to figure out why my bumper is higher on one side, yet it’s the same side that seems to be pulling on my hood & quarter panel. In other words, almost as if it’s lower at the radiator mount or some such. The whole truck is skewed. I took a bunch of pics & posted, but no replies. (It was probably clear as mud.) The driver’s side is actually higher frame to ground than the passenger as I measure progressively front to back. All kinds of fun. Anyway, I took a pic of the front & noticed the tire.

    K. If only one had a carpenter’s ruler just floating around. Another tool to put on the must get handy list.

Not that this was what the post was about, but just clarifying on the bumper, it sits higher on the frame. I noticed this when removing the bolts from the radiator mounts. The ratchet squeeze room was different from one side to the other.

toe in can also be measured cheap and easy using two yard sticks or cut off broom handles etc. Now it sounds like you added bent bumper mounts and suspension sag to the equasion.

Yeah, I have had a mount headache since a mechanic botched the job almost two years ago. Well, it’s all coming to light now. Hunting down a clunk & found more mount issues. Should’a never had someone else do the mounts. At least if I had screwed them up from the get go, it’d be all on me. I am kicking myself for not checking out the damage he caused more thoroughly though, back when it happened.
& i think the other may be leaf spring related? Not quite sure yet. That’ll be next after I figure out how to refix the mounts.
Seems like the more stuff I do something else surfaces. Just seems like that. I don’t really believe it. & i got a lot of it right so far.
