I was thinking of this, but don't know if all of the wiring is in there.

I did it on my Sr it was not hard it plug in to current harness all you need is to run two wires from turn signal to mirror harness using T taps or if you want to splice the wire and solder it

    ^^^ This.
I have heard the wiring is not there, so anything you do is going to make it much more than a plug & play project. I have heard the same goes for heated if the truck didn't initially come with it. I personally have not validated this for SR5, but they apparently are considered the same for practical purposes.

It’s their I did it and worked out it plug into the harness all you have to do is run the Two wires from mirror harness to turn signal when you plug it in to the factory harness look at the other end of the mirror harness you will see two wires that has no wires going to factory plug just tap into those two and run it to the turn signal harness going to the headlight

Did you run the wires from the turn signal switch?

Just stumbled across this thread. I have an SR5 and just picked up a set of turn signals and body color-matched mirror caps. I’m wanting to do this but when I popped my covers off my mirrors, this is what I see. No where for the signals to fit in. Did you use a dremel or something to hack this piece up so they’d fit, or did you do something else?

The mirrors (whole assembly) are different. You need TRD mirrors for this mod. You can, of course swap mirrors without much effort. The issue then will be that there is no door to body wiring.

Damn, I was hoping this wasn’t the case. I already bought the turn signals off a member and the new covers. I may try and hack mine up and make a slot for them. A dremel and some jb weld may do the trick :notsure:. Thanks for the info!

The upside is... you would need those to do the swap on the correct mirror assemblies as well. :)

Is this the correct wire you spiced into, for the driver side and passenger side? Also, did you spice the ground wire to the battery terminal or you also spiced it into the wire?

    Great job @bongbong!

What was the final wiring decision for the passenger and driver side? Thanks in advance.

It's temporarily but I plugged the two wires (power and ground) into the socket hole (they were very flexible and I didn't want to cut/tap into the wires.). Planning to use a tiny bit of silicon to waterproof a certain area that is exposed.

Also, the wires were small enough to go through small holes between the hood and door, so didn't need to bypass the firewall. :D

If I buy just the turns signals off of another truck can they just be added to my existing SR mirrors? I know the wiring has to be modified but will the turn signals just clip on to my existing mirrors. Or, do I have to buy different mirrors?
