We chatted before in another one of my posts. I think it was door and dash panels. What’s up with the white a- pillar cover?

Haha damn! For some reason they only had gray or black available in AK. Or my funky one thats got black cloth with red stitching and the red dash surround, everything else black. Not very cohesive — especially on a tan truck!

I guess it's an SR and SR5 thing.

Hate that too. Anyone have a part number for the dark gray ones?

The hardest part is the melted mounting posts. I used a soldering iron to melt and push the plastic back and over the rest of the post. The remaining pieces of plastic chip off pretty easy from the door panel. 017F74FF-6454-4323-AA61-6120043AA7EB.jpgB0F9DFE0-2FD8-4BDC-9088-2E6EB693E34A.jpg Soak rags in this and let it sit on the glue. You need to peel the padding and cloth layer off to get the striper to the glue. Let it sit for about an hour then it will slide off. image.jpg I used 3m super 77 to glue a 1/4” padding on then the leather pieces on. I’m in the middle of my driver door panel so I’ll post more pics as I go.

After melting the studs, that’s what I’m going to call them, there I some plastic left on the door panel. I used a 1/4” wood chisel to scrape the rest off. Then put the chisel in the hole and twist. It he’s 2 square sides and 2 rounded sides. Only scrape the leftover white and it sorta pops off. The door panel comes off and the piece comes out in an hour. Stripping the glue off takes forever with what I am using but I am afraid to use anything stronger. If it melts the < PP> plastic I’m screwed!! image.jpgimage.jpg Once the piece is clean I post more pics. I’m doing the last door panel now.image.jpg

Clean panel and ready to spray glue.1D774676-A872-45F5-AF0C-15A3B4DC24D5.jpg Padding attached.BF7FA050-7FA7-4C7D-B2C5-1EDA54750188.jpg Cut a bigger piece then you need then trim to fit once glued on. Remember the angle you held the razor blade at on the first piece and keep it that way on all 4 doors. Damn, out of 3M super 77. Off to Home Depot. See you soon.

Great pics, but video would be better. Still, very good and informational pics. By the way, HOW is that door panel piece held onto the door? Does it snap on/off? Thanks for this, as this is really helpful!

CD843751-128F-49C8-A6DA-D31E7B73D589.jpg It’s held on by 2 tabs 3 screws and 11 melt over hollow plastic studs that stick up off the panels. You have to cut, drill, or melt them off. Then melt, screw, or epoxy them back on. They suck. I used a soldering iron to melt them and roll the melted plastic back on top of the stud until I can see the complete hole in the door panel.

I like this a lot. I'd like to try this since I have a bunch of alcantara material. DId you add foam under your fabric?

Make sure you have clearance between parts!! If anyone wants to do this. If I ran the padding all the way around the piece onto the back it would push the piece off the mounting studs. I had to think about that when I trimmed off the padding.

I would glue the foam first onto the part, trim and then apply my material.

Bump. It been awhile. Condor sidekick pouch. I pushed holes into the bag and put small 1/4” grommets in the holes. Drilled holes in the lid to match. Drilled holes in the yellow plastic strips and zip-tied it in.19479339-EF4C-483A-A2BF-821F1CDF0026.jpg7A78FE21-FF90-4A4E-BCFD-34A35AD614E7.jpg0A134F04-26A8-47C4-BBCB-DB18669EAC6E.jpg
