I like the stealth look and simplicity of your solution.

But I am too chicken to try this on my Tacoma with only 500 miles and have it banned by the only Toyota dealer in a 50-mile radius LOL

Well, it is a risk you take anytime you decide to mod a vehicle regardless lol.... Luckily, my dealership does custom lifts etc on trucks all the time so these things don't really bother them. The way I saw it was that I still have the stock grill and if they gave me shit about it, I'll put that one back on and then bring it back.. not like its hard to swap grills out lol

I also received an Oem garnish along with my Mad Hornets Chinese grill. Got the same issue installing garnish. Ended up JB welding it. FYI Mad Hornets w/garnish was $151 shipped to Hawaii in 8 days. Also I received the bolt in TOYOTA with no screws included. Used screws from disassembled stock grill. Perfect fit.

This happened to me in the grill that I got from Mad Hornets. After emails back and forth with them, they were nice enough to include detailed pics of what I needed to do. I do not have the pics, or cannot find them, unfortunately. BUT, I had the exact experience. The problem is that the tabs need to be shaved slightly. Dang, I wish I could be more specific. But although I was annoyed at having to do this on mine, as common sense would dictate that it should work right out of the box, still, I wanted to get this done so I did what I was told to do by the support rep. It worked after I trimmed the tabs down. It snapped right in. By the way, I had also ordered an OEM TSS Sensor cover during the time I was waiting for tech support, and it too, did not snap in. So it was NOT a matter of it being a "cheap chinese" part as someone on here mentioned, but just something that was not done right in the manufacture of the grill itself. But the OEM cover and the one I got from Mad Hornets, were EXACTLY the same size, shape, etc.

My Pro grill and cover cost me $145 and $23 respectively.

I didn't have starlock washers. That's what those are called, btw. I added a .004" stainless steel shim at the top of the RADAR sensor (to compensate for lower mounting), then held the garnish in and stabbed the round pegs with a red hot 12 gauge wire.

I expected TSS faults. Had none. That was a few thousand miles ago. It seems to work as well as it did with the OEM grill.

    $168 shipped.

For the people that had to file the pressure clips down, what part did you have to do that to? The top or the sides? Having the same problem here. Oem garnish non oem pro grill.
