A day late (2 actually) and a dollar short, but here are my two cents. The small spot would be great for a bike, so it should have been kept clear. Absolutely - park to protect your sweet ride - but... that would also include keeping your bumper out of the shrubs, sidewalks, & opposing parking spots. Don't stop in the spot when your wheels hit, but instead stop when your bumper is just short of the line or space.

Not necessarily you, but WAY too many park to allow their bumpers to be over the sidewalk or walkway. Why?!? A bunch even scrape their front clip in doing so, but do it anyway. The overhanging bumper (& sometimes the bed of a p-up) just blocks the sidewalk for use of walking, or worse, wheel-chair use. Smartly designed lots will actually place the concrete wheel stop (long chock) well back from the end of the spot so that the wheels hit BEFORE the vehicle encroaches into the walkway. So sad someone else has to do the thinking for the driver.

This rant isn't directed at you @hack4875 , even though your parking photo does appear that you waited to stop after your front wheels hit the curb. Sure, no walkway in front of you, so no one else is inconvenienced by your bumper-overhang; but your classic car could be (that one time it scrapes). Why risk it?

I know, I know... I need photos to keep this post from being worthless. Plenty of opportunities for them, i just have to get out & about.
