    Yea pretty much the race radio is a basic ham with the limiting channels. I think as long as I can program in the frequency then I should be solid.

    It should already be programmed if it is a "race radio"? You just pick a channel on it. The actual HAM users would have to "match" your channel/frequency that YOU are on.

    @Coot83 for example, if you were to choose ch7, likely your radio is set for that frequency on that channel... the HAM dudes would have to program in to their radios: 153.110

    I've programmed my Baofeng by names using a lot of the common channels, any other radio can dial it in off of a good list as reference. I printed a couple for my truck since lots of people dont have them named in their radios.
