Howdy. Just gave up my 1997 tacoma for a 2019 tacoma utility. I need some snow tires and was very happy with DuraTracs on my '97. Oddly, Goodyear indicates the DuraTracs don't fit the 2019 SRs, although they say they come in 245/75R16. What gives? Is this a P vs LT thing? Do I need to worry about it?

I'll likely also get new rims and swap out the wheels 6mo on/off (we have a long winter/mud season in da UP). Advice on cheap rims?

Thanks for the help for a newb question (my first post). Didn't worry too much about my old pickup, but treating my new one more carefully.

If you plan on swapping them out I would get actual winter tires. Duratracs are more of an aggressive year rounder.

Thanks. I've had the Duratracs on my old truck the last two winters and in my experience they're actually much more effective for our typical snow conditions than snow tires. We don't get a ton of ice, and before/after the main snow season is a month or so of intermittent snow/slush. There are no freeways nearby so speeds are pretty moderate in wintertime. They were originally recommended by a friend who's firm runs them year round in the region.

Sounds like your on the right track then. As you know, that’s where they really shine is slush and loose snow.

The duratracs will fit just fine in that size. You could go up to 265/75/16 without modification to the truck if you so desired.

Guessing you are in Tahoe or similar west coast region. Duratracs are excellent in these climates.

Thanks for the info - glad to know I can stick with the duratracs. I'm actually in Houghton in the Upper Peninsula of MI. We average about 250 inches of snow annually, though last year was a record 347. Doesn't get super cold though. I often leave for work before the snow plow comes through...
