When I had just bought my 09, that first weekend I decid3 to take a dirt road short cut, that turned into a woods trail short cut. As we pulled on the dirt road, wife makes a comment about brand new truck, you don’t know where this goes, yada yada. I replied, I looked on a map, we are all set.

Well that wood trail road, turned to, well barely enough room to move. Problem is just before getting to the part where it was obvious we were not going any further, was when we heard the scrapes and the wife kindly says, the way only they can, “it’s yours now isn’t it”

I was able to back up and turn around eventually, but not with out more scrapes. But I was able to say with a straight face, the second ones aren’t my fault, we needed to get out of there. Not sure if she agreeded.

And then there is the time I backed into the same telephone pole twice.

Think I told that story here somewhere. Basically, backing up from a baseball field, I was parked on sidewalk to load gear. Jumped in the truck, saw folks walking towards me and I payed more attention to them, then what was behind me. I hear this loud crunch, son says dad it’s a telephone pole, I didn’t listen, said it’s a water bottle someone left, gave it more gas, as I now couldn’t see the pole and heard more crunching. Got out, and wouldn’t you know it, big ass dent in passenger side rear quarter and a dam telephone pole.

Lol.. I watched my bil back into one in front of a fire station.
We had met up on one of the canyon roads to exchange some pool parts I needed. We bs'd for a few minutes then we jumped back into our trucks.... my 07 and he has a 11. He starts his up and hits reverse and I am watching from my mirror. I am yelling "stop", but only to myself as he can't hear me. Next thing you hear is crunch and the truck came to an abrupt halt and the pole wiggled so much the wires all the way to the station were swaying back and forth. He didn't even get out to look, just flipped his bitch and was off like the wind. 5 minutes later I get a text "FUCK!!!!!".

Sorry, but I need help making my fuckups seem less painful.

I was hooking up my trailer, moving it by hand, when the trailer wheels dropped off of the garage slab and sent the receiver into my tailgate... TWICE, as the first, then the second wheel dropped off.

Oh yeah, I was having a bad week. Prior to the tailgate, I had a rock fly up and tag my hood on the freeway. Dented and scratched down to bare metal.

    Lots, straight from the factory.
No, your insurance blows goats for dimes. My insurance was okay with me causing single vehicle accident (E63 AMG) and didn’t raise my rates because I was ten years accident free.
It doesn’t matter how you cause an accident, or what. That’s why it’s collision comprehensive and it’s required on any vehicle with a lien. It covers the banks ass, and yours.

My 07 didn't have one.... still learning to use this one. Didn't save me from the post in my parking area or the dumpster I stuck behind my truck for trash day, took a phone call and got distracted. Threw it in reverse and BAM!

I bought a hot glue dent pull kit from Amazon. It includes a hot glue gun, various strengths of glue sticks, a large assortment of pull pads, body working hammers, and a placard of parallel lines to perfectly shape the panel.

I searched YouTube for 'paintless dent repair', and watched a few of the results.

Most dents, I can repair in an hour or less. For "free" (part of a glue stick, a $0.10 plastic tab, some isopropyl alcohol, and electricity to run the glue gun). It's about as difficult as buffing out car wash swirls.

I'm also not afraid to cut a section out, weld a patch in, then sand/prime/paint/clear-coat. That's more complicated, but not at all difficult. Practice on scraps until you're confident.

If you're going to play, and you're not wealthy, you should at least learn to fix the easy stuff.

How fast were you going? When I'm in the woods doing turnarounds I occasionally drive by braille, no big deal, but it never leaves a dent. Maybe a scuff at the worst.
