You can ask to speak with Iris if you need to. She is the main point of contact and is aware of the fitment issues. I have sent her measurements and pictures of everything. Just be patient with communication..... They are in China.

Which fitment did you use? I heard Schosche or what not ones work for alpine headunits. Something those lines. I have been debating getting one of these too..

A little bit of this, a little bit of that...
Good tip. I mentioned to them the difficulty of Chinese warranties and not having a support/service center in the Americas vs. major brands. Also mentioned having to purchase extra dongles to get options that are already built into other head units.
Who actually makes these units? I have seen similar HU bearing different brands.

What extras are needed to get this unit to work with the steering wheel controls and move my backup camera down to the screen from the mirror? I’m not all that concerned with having GPS, I have a Garmin mounted on my A Pillar and I prefer to use Waze when traffic is an issue, so it’s not a big deal either way.

No extras needed for steering wheel controls. I didn't move my backup cam from the mirror so I can't speak on that.

    :headbang: thanks for rec OP!
I'll chronicle my experience if anyone is curious.

    Aug. 24-30th
Just ordered my Dasaita Android 9.0 yesterday. I went back and forth with "Iris" from Dasaita on price for a couple days. Started out at $478 and talked them down to $430. My offer did expire before I had the chance to purchase the unit. So I went ahead and called eBay to sort things out. I ended up purchasing for $450 and credited $20 promptly. Days before I made the purchase, I stopped by a local stereo shop and asked their opinion and they were impressed with it. They also told me there would be no way they could match that price and that I should go for it.

    Sept. 1st
Received a message from Dasaita tonight. They wanted to address any fitment issues before they sent it out apparently. They asked for my make and model, a picture of my stock stereo and if I'm running a factory amplifier. The language barrier is kind of rough and the response time seems to be about 24hours.

    Sept. 2nd
Update: received a quick response. "Iris" promised that everything should fit fine. (We'll see) 1-10 business days. Will update when it arrives and take photos of installation.

    Sept. 8th
    Expected delivery Monday

    Sept. 9th
Arrived, going to try and get it in there ASAP

    Sept. 10th
Out of the box and ready to roll

    20190909_130141.jpg

Just a few things I want to note. The uninstall of the factory stereo was a breeze untill it came down to extracting the hazard/clock. I literally had to take the stereo apart to avoid from breaking it.

    20190909_141336.jpg
    20190909_141712.jpg

After figuring that out, I came to a point where I think some are having fitment issues with the hazard/clock. Everything clipped in snug but the screw holes did not line up. I just put the larger left over screws from the factory unit in and it securely tightened up. Moving on...

While I had everything apart I went ahead and painted the hazard light button along with the back part of the climate control panel.

    20190909_155559.jpg

The process of actually mounting the unit was simple but I did notice that the unit had a bit of a wiggle to it. So I had some left over double sided gaskets from another project. I lined the CC panel and both sides of the air vents. After that, fit snug and secure.

    20190909_160654.jpg

Wires were plug and play as advertised. Very simple but don't forget to transfer over these yellow clips before install.

    20190910_005952.jpg

Sounds great, looks great, runs great. Im super happy with it. All around a good experience. Would totally recommend it.

Two questions before I put in a best offer on eBay... one, can the color of the buttons be changed or am I stuck with blue? And two, has the bracket fitment issue been sorted out or will I need to order a dash kit from Metra to mount this in my truck?

The buttons have complete color control so that's not an issue at all.

Unfortunately the bracket set up has not been sorted from the manufacturer. I have modified the stock radio brackets to fit as have some of the others and this allows for a solid solution. The bad part with this set up is you have to glue in the hazard switch assembly. The correct bracket as per the design of this dash kits is part of the older 2005-2011 radios but is not sold individually. I am still arguing with Dasaita for a 75 dollar refund as that would allow for me to buy one of the older radios on eBay and pull out the necessary bracket.

Is seems as if we're good man. We have '09s. Everyone above '11 is having a fitment issue.

Figures.. I've been looking at this unit for several weeks now.. question, does the Maestro DataLink work with this unit, I bought one when I was planning on putting my Kenwood 9990HD in the dash. Now I'm really liking the look of this thing..

Does the dasaita backup camera wire need to be changed 12v to 6v like the Seicane or is it plug play?

A little bit of this, a little bit of that...
What OEM backup camera can I mod into my '06 Tacoma to use with the Dasaita MAX6 unit? Toyota part number please..
If there are better aftermarket options. Which ones?

Yep, I have an 09 so I’m not worried about the hazard switch assembly. But it sounds like I might still have to modify the factory radio brackets, unless someone with an 05-11 has managed to reuse their stock ones without modification? It’s not a huge deal to have to drill the factory ones, just annoying.

Not yet. Trying to decide which one I want to buy. I don’t need a ton of internal space as I’ll be streaming music or using my satellite radio subscription. So my main focus is CarPlay and SiriusXM. Since the headunit doesn’t appear to have satellite radio, I’m going to need to find out if I can get a separate unit to connect or if I’ll just need to get a streaming only package from SiriusXM and use my phone and data (which might finally be enough to convince me to pay for unlimited data). Either way, I need to do a little bit more research before I buy one.

I highly doubt you would be able to get the maestro to work. That takes some software and hardware integration. Even in the name brand stereo world only certain models are compatible.

What features are you trying to retain with the maestro?

I'd love to get the vehicle info, tire pressure , possible instrument cluster and such.. From what I've read this thing retains steering wheel buttons right?
