It looks like the Toyota quality is dropping and Chevy is better than the person saying to run away.

I'm truck shopping now, too. I test drove a 2019 Tacoma Off Road. It seemed ok...not quick by any means, but not quite as underpowered as some make them out to be on here. The one I drove had a couple of issues. Granted it had 19k miles and wasn't brand new, but it had the rear axle howl, some shaking on the highway, and it was leaking around the rear axle. I'd have to find one without the howl and the shaking at least.

When it comes down to it, the thing that I can't seem to get along with is that the Taco is about 80% of the size I expect it to be when I'm sitting in it or standing next to it. I know that makes it great for trails, but my 4Runner is already a great vehicle for trails, and actually better in terms of wheelbase and angles. The 4Runner is also bigger inside...especially vertically. I keep expecting that of the Taco...like it's a 4Runner with a bed. But it is not. It's its own thing.

I also test drove a new Silverado. Hate to say it on this forum, but it impressed me. It felt planted on the road with loads more power on tap with the same or better fuel economy as the Taco. While it was extremely quiet, I didn't love the interior. I've owned several GM vehicles, but not for a while. I had a 2002 Suburban up until last year that I got 260k out of (on the original 5.3L and trans).

    I'm still undecided.

Check out Dashboard Light...the Silverado has an Exceptional rating for 2015-2019.

Depends if you actually want to use it as a truck versus an off-road truck. I came from a souped up F150 with 450 HP and 540 torque with the Ecoboost engine aka the turbos... And my Tacoma would smoke it off road yet onbroad performance the F150 takes the cake. Granted I don't use my trucks as actual work/pickup trucks. I had 50k miles with the F150 before selling and had some radio issues. It restarting out of no where, blue tooth not working at all with multiple different phones, touch screen not being touchable (which sucks because alot of options, adjustments, seat warmers, settings come from the touch screen radio). So far no issues with the Tacoma and I'm driving it pretty hard off-road and have not had a problem. Again, depends on your needs. If your never off roading, go chevy. If you are offroading, go Toyota. And I have a 2018 TRD Pro. It's a beast

If you want a mid sized, go with the Tacoma. If you want a full size, get a TRD pro tundra.

You can fit 35s on the factory tundra pro suspension if you want some big tires. The TRD exhaust is awesome

I’ve already put 15,000 miles on mine since I picked it up this spring. Zero regrets

Had my Silverado for 7 years....not a single problem. Had my 16 OR Tacoma for 6 months and ditched it (for a Jeep) due to so many issues. If you like the Chevy, get it, they’re great vehicles.

In my opinion, (same as with most of these types of questions), you've already decided what you wanted to purchase before starting this thread, it just seems more justified when you hear others "justify your decision". Don't take that the wrong way, because I'm "guilty as charged", we've all done it. Enjoy your Chevy!

Silverado 6.2 is sick, just have the AFM turned off. Tough choice. I love my 2017 pro, but about to move up to a full size sierra or Silverado myself.

Bilsteins 5100s on the top setting, 4runner Gray TRD Pro Sema wheels, 285/70/17 Toyo AT3s, Sumo Bump stops, TRD exhaust, ECGS Clamshell bushing, 1/4 shim for the lean and one inch rear block, OEM Pro grill and garnish OEM TRD Skid plate, TRD CAI, Demon Brackets, Rigid Industries Pro fog lights, OEM Trail Rails sidebars, Diode Dynamics LED SL1 high and low beam lights, OEM Roof racks, Clazzio leather heated seats, Remote Start, TRD Pro shift knob, tinted windows, Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp for the headunit and sub and amp combo, OEM Puddle lights, OEM tailgate lock, OEM bed mat, LED interior lights, OEM blackout kit for letters, JLT catch can, upgraded 27F toyota True Start battery, Vleds led tail light kit with Pro tail lights, OEM Rave4 side mirrors with convex spotters, just to name a few mods.
Had 4 Suburbans over the past 20 years and they are great vehicle but you will take a bath on resell value. Plus the GM vehicles are getting expensive to fix. I just didn't need a big vehicle anymore, so happy to have the smaller DCLB.

Actually it doesn't in what you posted. Chevy's reliability is TBD. Go buy the Chevy.

What do you want it to do?

Haul stuff: get a '91 Frankentruck for $100.
Go fast: get a Kawasaki Ninja
Go up impossible logging roads: get a mule.
Do a mix of the above: the TRD OR, replace the suspension.
Attract other men: get the Silverado, remove the muffler.

The Tundra is too ugly and too low to the ground. The Tacoma PRO exhaust sucks. That drone is just for show. It does nothing. I liked the OR better in that respect.

I am just trying to find real views not some Online reviews. They are ok, but here I would think people would really state their mind. I still haven't bought yet. I was looking at what is available for lifts for the PRO. This week I am waiting for prices from other dealers. I am not paying ADM on the PRO. They can shove that greed bullshit. They all fight each other over the same allocations. It is just who has the most overhead so they will charge a higher price. Since last week was the end of the month, everyone has "the best deal", yes right. We shall see if it holds up not that a new month has started.

I'm always leery of buying a new vehicle the first year after a redesign, so that would rule out the Chevy for me for now. I don't want to be their beta tester.

As far as past experience goes, Chevy drive trains are usually fine, but the interiors fall apart. I just disassembled and reassembled a good chunk of my dash on my 2000 toyota and was amazed to not find any brittle plastic.

I bought my 2014 GMC Sierra All Terrain for $31K , 2 years old with 23K miles . It was over 50K new so alot of depreciation . My Tacoma is a 2017 and I checked Carvana and cash offer of 30,853 .

I personally haven't owned a chevy truck but have friends that do and they like them. I just don't like the quality of the interior. You need to get something that meets your need and if it's a full size truck then get it.

At least this redesign is mostly body, but some frame. Since it has the 6.2L which is the best motor they make and was the winner of this award.
