Lost one of my best friends a couple days ago. Nadia was diagnosed with Laryngeal paralysis 8 days before i had to put her down. She had passed out just sitting on her bed took her right away to the vets, they got her stable and breathing OK took x rays and scoped down her throat and her vet gave me the diagnosis. Never even heard of that disease before. After talking to the vet figured out she had this her whole life but no one ever diagnosed it. Was always told she was just hyper, excited etc. but in fact she was struggling to breath. Talked to 2 surgeons both said she was not a good candidate for the surgery because of age and progression of the disease plus looking at all the side effects don't think i would have done the surgery anyway. Thought i would have more time with her. Did not realize how bad she actually was. she was 12 years old, still have the other 2 and that helps but miss her a lot.

Thought I might be in this thread today. We lost our pup awhile back, he was a great pup for 10 years we had him. Wife messaged me about bringing home a new friend from the pet store. So obviously thought we would have a camping buddy but came home to this and not sure we were on the same page anymore...., I mean who actually wants a cat. Old pup pick for good measure.

Wow, and still made it to twelve. So sorry for your loss. Freakin sucks to lose a member of the family.

    Near this Spot
are deposited the Remains of one
    who possessed Beauty without Vanity,
    Strength without Insolence,
    Courage without Ferosity,
and all the virtues of Man without his Vices.
This praise, which would be unmeaning Flattery
    if inscribed over human Ashes,
is but a just tribute to the Memory of Nadia,
    a DOG
    .
