Worn Out shifter 2nd gen

    [​IMG] Does anyone know how to tear apart or fix a loose worn out shifter on a 2007 6 speed

    Mine is the same way. You can replace the shifter seat and the end bushing, but it’ll make minimal difference. The play is likely caused by the upper shifter section separating from the rubber isolator that connects to the lower shifter.

    There’s a guy on here that drills them out and fills with resin of some sort, others drill/tap for machine screws through the black outer shifter to steady it against the inner. Some just replace with a short throw.

    Edit- as far as removal, easy- just pull the bottom from your console cubby, remove the screws, work it loose, once the shift surround is out, press the collar and turn it left, shifter will pop right out.
