Nah, too much work. I’d have to plug the a pilar holes as well. It still does it’s job on that truck and the gf likes it and since she drives it now it’ll stay.

The 4wd truck was in a minor front end collision, so the passenger fender doesn’t line up as well as it should. The prerunner is in great shape inside and out, so I’ll leave it alone

I'll be very interested in how you like it. I know the Harrops have that weird thing where its not instant engagement and there is rotational slack going backwards or forwards in the locked position. That being said, even with instant disengagement of the ARB, it doesn't unlock till shit lines up and if you are stuck in a tough position it takes some finagling to get steering back.

 

Pretty sure that feature is only for like if you are going up something and stall and roll backwards it unlocks automatically sort of to relieve stress on the axles to keep something from popping. Locks back up after one rotation.

The locker itself might take one full rotation to lock as well but I don't think so. Should be just like an arb in terms of instant on and off.

So let's say you backed up to adjust your line, and set yourself to be in a good spot, you need some rotation to get that front to be locked up again. Not the way I prefer, when I am set on a line I want my tires to spin when I think they will.

anyways, I think they have tweaked the design a bit but not much. Its a cool concept in terms of saving axles. I can see how it might be a bit odd on the trail though.

 

Yeah in sandy shit no one would really notice, but technical rock crawling I can definitely say that would drive me nuts, especially out here on the East Coast where stacking a rock or two and holding a line can free up a belly skid or rear diff.

 

they did tweak the design, absolutely no idea if the front lockers have been updated yet or what version ECGS is using, but the updated design is more of a "gradual" locking force rather than a quick on/off after the point of rotation needed to lock. Whether or not it makes a huge difference up front has yet to be seen, but I didn't want to fuck with an air locker.

POR-15 the Reese receiver that came on truck new and the spare tire carrier (other carrier not pictured).

 

Por15 gets broken down pretty easily by UV. You’re probably better off with regular paint.

Por-15 is a rust inhibitor. It should be covered by paint. Also, I agree with you UV will break down Por-15 quickly(If not covered).

 

Not to mention that it's a pretty big no-no to reverse in locked when you have a high pinion front diff. Maybe they were thinking about saving diff gears

 

I’m using the POR-15 Top Coat on the receiver hitch. The spare tire carrier is up under the truck covered by the spare tire so I’m not to worried about it

 

What is a solid battery choice for our trucks? I have some additional things like lights and a winch if that makes a difference. My battery is 4 years old and needs to be replaced.
