I lost one of my front mud flaps on my first generation Tacoma. I have no idea what to do to replace it - probably both fronts so they match. Are there after market mud flaps I can buy? Where? Do I have to find OAM off of a junked truck? Any input is appreciated.

Options from cheap and easy to expensive and easy:
    1. Park beside a similar truck at the mall.
    2. Junk yard.
    3. eBay, saw the flaps for your truck for $13.00.
    4. Any other online retailer selling flaps.
    5. Auto parts store.
    6. Stealership for OEM flappy flaps.

Let us know what you decide to do, unless you choose option 1.

Another option is just generic rubber mudflaps, and just trim them to fit.

For what it's worth, I've actually NEVER had front mudflaps in the ~15 years I've had my truck. That, 265/75r16 KO's, and the stupid K&N "cold air" intake are the only mods the original owner did to it in the ~4 months he owned it (I bought it in 2005). Probably took the flaps off because the tires rubbed.

People say the same thing about texas pinstripes, dents and dings. But I wear mine with honor.

But I guess some people are more concerned with how their truck looks, than how it functions, which is I guess why some people spend just as much on car polish and tire shine as they do their hi-lifts and RTTs, lol

Thanks all. It sounds like flaps are universal so I can get something generic and use existing screw holes.

i care how my truck functions in the winter to get me around the snow and slop slop, if i can hit a farm field i can get some mud on the black, which is a blazing good look

some people live in a different climate than others and some things are a must to keep on top of or it can all go to heck before you realize!
20+ years is a long time and there seems to be many vehicles, mostly trucks, that do not handle it all so well when the years start passing by

i saw an '02 Tacoma in the local salvage yard this weekend that was not well taken care off and turned to total crap (bottom and topside) most likely started in the past 10 years or so, for some reason the current owner at the time was not notified about the frame thing or possibly were aware and just opted out, i will never know

if there were 'suitable' alternatives to replace this truck maybe it would be best for the salt monster to take it from me and just start over, but I have yet to see something out there on the market that even comes close to the compact 1st gen Tacoma, a super size truck might be nice but an awful one to park

the west coast and deep south have it so much easier

Yeah, obviously you should take care of your truck to the point that it still functions, and continues to be reliable.

My sarcastic comment was directed towards things people focus on that don't have any detrimental effect on reliability or function, like surface rust on rope hooks...

Some people are function over form, others are the opposite. Most are both depending on the situation.

I have an extra pair of front flaps. Let me know if you want them.
