    There you go!
You answered your own question, the resale (ability) will be for shit. Banks don't loan money, insurance companies won't cover more then just liability. And, everyone knows the insurance company declared it a total loss for a reason. The owner can claim, light rear end damage, yada yada yada, but the folks that know what they're doing deemed it a total loss for reason.

Id recommend expanding your search radius. The 2016 is a little on the overpriced side, and the salvage is a crackpipe smokin' hell-no. I'd rather go non-toyota than buy either of these.

I have a 16 AUTO and it’s the most reliable truck I’ve had with zero issues next to a hi pressure fuel pump replacement. Just hit 46k and it’s still rockin...Texas made

Like 2017 was different, or 2018, or 19.
I keep hearing this myth but they are the same trucks lol.
I have a late 2016 with no recalls. Only a tranny flash. ZERO issues other than a battery.
    Nothing major has changed.

Man, I paid 32K for my 17 OR new in December of '16. I gotta imagine killer deals are available right now on '19's since '20's are about to drop. No way i'm paying for either option you listed OP at those prices, salvage titles and miles.

Agreed. I actually think there has been more issues with the 2017’s than anything. I’ve seen a TON of issues following the OVtune thread from page 1 and it’s 2500 pages long lol.

I’m still rocking the stock battery in my 2016 and it’s putting out the same juice as it did day 1...rare I know

Why would it be a salvage title if it was just a minor rear end as they say. If it was something minor then it's easily fixable, which wouldn't have to be totaled out

I have to agree the Colorado market for Tacomas is over priced. Avoid Salvage at all cost unless you are a body guy/mechanic. Take a look up north to Wyoming or south to Arizona or east to Kansas/Nebraska. Or shoot me a DM if you are in the market for a 17 inferno DCLB OR basically stock.

I suggest avoiding the 2015 with salvage title. It’s too risky to pay $20,000. Sometimes it can be difficult to obtain insurance for salvage vehicles.

As for the 2016, mileage is high and I suggest avoiding it since it was the first model year of the 3rd Generation Tacoma. A used 2017 Tacoma might be a good target.

I was in the same boat as you, looking for a used Tacoma. After seeing how anything Tacoma is priced. This is what I bought. It's not an OR but I gave 29K for a dcsb SR 4x4. Had 3 miles on it. For another 3K you can get a brand new truck with full warranty. I would think hard before giving 26K for a used one and would not consider a salvage title.

Absolutely agreed. A lot of TW members say that the 16's & 17's had problems. I don't know if they ever owned one or they are just talking without knowing. Other than the AC blower motor recall, I haven't had any problems with my 17. Hell, I had more recalls on my 2012 than my 2017. Actually, I've seen a lot of members posting problems with the 18's and newer, because of the TSS.

9B4136A4-F9A8-44C8-B84C-CAEE1EF19A19.jpg thanks for all the input, after careful consideration ive decided to NOT consider a salvage or "rebuilt" title. i did however find a 2016 with 38k on it its only an sr5 but its a dcsb which is what i was looking for and i got the guy down to $25k. no problems or accidents at all.

C178D4CB-D9B6-4441-803E-5026F4207AB3.jpg Did find this problem with only 1 of the tires. Every other row is warm and it is loud as a mf C178D4CB-D9B6-4441-803E-5026F4207AB3.jpg Looking for 33’s to swap out in Colorado if anyone has some let me know. Would consider full rum and tire swap. Would also just take the tire... 285 70 17

If you have your heart set on these two, pick the 2015 because the 2016 is overpriced. Keep in mind that buying a salvaged title means you are in it for the long haul. Otherwise, keep looking and you will find a better deal somewhere.

Wheel alignment. Toe was out of adjustment. You should have two tires with that same pattern. Any case you should have the alignment checked.
