I looked in the owners manual and it’s ambiguous. Is there a way to have the digital speedometer displayed with current mpg or average mpg displayed instead of Miles to Empty?

    Thanks

You can't configure that screen very much, out of the box. It's a shame, really.

You can configure gauges on a phone or tablet. Look at OBDLink, OBD Fusion, Torque, Carista, or the other 30,000 apps.

Or, replace the Panasonic AT1501 (Entune) with a modern Kenwood Nav/receiver plus Maestro and configure gauges on the main display.

Edit for weird fact: the Entune head is 2011 tech that Toyota charges $4,160 for in 2019.

It doesn't do a quarter as many things as a modern navceiver that costs a quarter as much.

So with Carista I could change that display?

It took me a minute to figure this out... on the Multi-Info Display go to the settings page and then scroll down to the next page. On my truck, I only saw the “Reset Settings” option from the settings page but when I hit the down button accidentally on the directional pad is when I noticed other pages.

It’s in the magic book and not all that ambiguous. Use your scroll function. Left, right, up and down all work. Go nuts and have fun checking out the features.

Yes, I saw that but those screens get rid of the digital speedo. I’d like it to display both.

Got ya. Understand what you are trying to ask now. That you can not do, no. The pages are what they are.

No. That screen is extremely limited. I'm working on a mod that will replace it with fully configurable and themable pages. If I don't get distracted before finishing it, I'll post instructions, code, and examples...it'll be some very useful diy.

For now, you can use a phone or tablet to display what you want, the way you want e.g., speed, rpm, torque, avg mpg, instant mpg, & 2 transmission temps...on one freakin' screen.

You can get a tablet for $30, a mount for another $30, and have instrumentation that the Apollo crews would kill to have had.

These vehicles have more than 400 data points that can be monitored.

Yes, under settings, then select drive info 1, 2, or 3, then select which info you want displayed. I made a quick video to help better explain: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDILZ2HBuTY
