    i want answers!
on how this shit starts and how to f*cking stop it from getting worse like that truck there
i want expertise because i do not want to mess my truck up trying to DIY

perhaps the dealers and mechanics here are just unaware of the realness of the situation as time goes by
i have spent nearly six months of my life now trying to understand this problem they try to keep hush hush
and tired of getting the cold shoulder when i ask them, its like oh we dont really care that you feel this way from bringing your truck to us for service for nearly 1/4 of a century!
    buzz off they tell me

thanks for listening to me and allowing me to vent my utter frustrations!
    the lunchtable is the best!

don't worry, the 2nd and 3rd gens are giving me a major headache as well :(

    Too many to list
All you can do is wash the frame, fluid film it, and enjoy it. Like all manmade things it will breakdown and decay. Thats a fact. If you constantly worry about it, you cant enjoy it.

Hes looking at a junkyard truck in the midwest. If hed look under any Dodge or Jeep product in the same yard thats of the same era as that yota it will more than likely appear the same.

it is possible that this truck was registered here for 22 years but lived elsewhere like Chicago, Minneapolis or Milwaukee, closest big cities that Toyota admits there is a problem, no problems to be concerned about here though they told me time and again!

No. They, like yours and mine suffer from old ass vehicle syndrome.

    Rust happens. End of story.

You can slow it down but you cannot stop it. Stop pissing off your local technicians about things they have no control over, or desire to care about as all youre doing is burning bridges. Understand that vehicles are disposable, and that they last longer in some places than they do others.

i have never heard of fluid film until TW, but its probably not wise to do on a semi dirty frame?

the technicians should know SOMETHING about proper treatments! ... maybe they do in other states but Toyota must not educate them or something
they are tugging at my wallet now and I don't care for that at all ... $10-15k to upto $50k this is the potential cost i am trying to avoid

but no worries! with all the sandblaster stuff i have breathed in this evening my life will be shortened...

    @Kwikvette

Got my new tail gate swing out installed! This thing is awesome. Sorry for the potato pics but it's pitch black outside, I'll get better detail pics when it's light out.

It's unpainted so far but I'll probably paint it this weekend. The weight is definitely heavier than the stock tailgate but smooths out my Expos nicely in the rear.

Thanks a ton to @GHOST SHIP for fabricating this up for me, anyone interested in one should shoot him a PM

    Will upload better pics tomorrow

Don't worry too much about the dirt, as the Fluid Film will attract and hold dust anyway. To me, it's better as the dirt seems to bind it.
