Morning Alabama! I hope we get 2 ft of snow this year, only because we never see it here! I wish we got a repeat of the blizzard of '93!

 

EFF that! I work for a place that makes us burn our own PTO for weather related events. When the base is closed I am not allowed to go to work and must burn PTO. So eff any weather related anything!

 

That right there is F’d up. Forcing someone to take PTO. Sounds like a law suit to me.

 

I didn't have power or hot water for two weeks, so I hope you are wrong!

You guys with toppers, what are some things ya'll did after you bought them? Looking for storage ideas mostly. I know I'm a bit different with it being a softopper, but its the same idea behind it I'd think.

is the point of a shell not LITERALLY to allow you to just put stuff in your bed moreso than someone without with less worry?

 

More or less, but I prefer my stuff to be tied down and have a specific place. I hate loose gear.

 

I'd get one of those in between the wheel well toolboxes myself.

 

I'm considering a set of those Rigid tool boxes that snap together. Just gotta figure out how to tie it down. I like how detailed you can get with organizing them, just never wanted to leave it in my truck bed out in the open.

 

if I got a tool box I'd probably bolt it to the bed.

 

I want to be able to pull it out and move it around. Being bolted down would kill the whole "modular" thing I'm going for.

 

Disaster preparedness man! You gotta have a plan in case shit like this ever happens! Kerosene heater, generator, meds, food/water, radio, flashlight/batteries, etc

 

well you never said you were going for modular....

 

That's the whole point of a softopper... so I can fold it down and use the bed for truck stuff.

 

My thought is to have my toolbox (whatever that ends up being) at the back like you said. My truck is too tall for me to be crawling in the back of it constantly.

 

yes, and a bolted down toolbox is still "truck stuff"....
