I can spin my tires anytime in first. Its actually very ballsy in first. I never felt unsafe in the middle of intersections, like some complain about. Im using non ethanol fuel, maybe that makes a difference.

right on. using first in this thing is:
    - a learned skill
    - requires a lot of throttle, don't be shy
    - gotta have the ADM... or just keep getting lucky ;)
    - gets my truck nearly hopping from a standstill. you could call it a controlled lurch. my trucks nickname is The White Rabbit for a reason. :D

I still have the accumulator actually and never had an issue with firsr gear , or any other gears for that matter. Except for those times when you shift and it feels like its your first time driving MT. Then i definately know its the accumulator.

Would love to remove mine, my pevious truck did not have it and it did feel a bit more precise.

My truck currently has really low mileage, so i dont really want to screw around with it just yet. But on my to do list for sure.

That's what I thought, but I also thought crawl control is only available with the AT, and A-Trac is only available on the MT. Do those rules not apply to the 4runner? I guess the only one I know that to be true is on the 3rd Gen.

Ok, so the 4Runner has A-Trac with an AT. That makes sense then. So does the MT Tacoma have knob or not? That pic must be of a 4runner, which screwed me all up.

I stand corrected then. They both do not have a button and a dial, and the AT does in fact allow finer control of how the brake simulated locker works. Roger dodger.

That is a hair to split. Debating TC torque multiplication and fluid heat to the MT 1st gear ratio in low range:

Valid point. At least the MT puts the crawl ratio closer to what the Ranger is rocking. Now if only it had the low end grunt, as well.

Ahhh! Now, I get your first post. OVT did bump my mileage up 1.5 so far. You might check out if the 4.0 tune adds some for you?

As I said several pages back, the grunt problem is just a poor factory tune. A 3mb file that sullied a really good motor. I know on the MT side that OVT's FOB tune gives on hell of a torque hit right off of idle. I also feel that the tune is better for longevity. The factory tune was bad.
