Man something I was not expecting with the shell is the hit to the gas mileage. Dropped a solid 1.5-2mpg.

 

I do those too. I just drink milk on top of it.

You think its the added weight of your shell and the drawers or more of an aerodynamic issue?

I’m thinking more an aero issue. Didn’t notice it that bad when it was just the drawers. Maybe .5mpg. Normally running between guntersville and Huntsville with the cruise on 65mph I get 18ish. The last 2 times I’ve been in the high 15s and low 16s.

This is straight computer comparison. Hand calculated is slightly better.

 

Hmm. Interesting. I'll have to run some numbers next fill up I do and see. I dropped the roof rack and added the softtopper so I'm curious what effect that will have on MPG.

Slotted rotors or regular OEM ones for my 06 Taco? Do slotted rotors make that much of a difference in stopping power?
