So I’ve had my lift installed now for a couple weeks so I wanted to update those who asked about it before the install. I put on 5100s all around, OME 887 coils, and @HeadStrong Off-Road 3-leaf AAL

@oostroma - you asked for just kind of a general update. The ride is good, a little stiffer than stock but I prefer this, the stock suspension seemed too flowy over bumps and dips, this is a little more rigid

@Cappy - you asked about ride, so see above, but also the 5100 setting, I’m set on 0 and got the lift from the OME 887. If you can swing it, I’d say get new coils for the lift so you’re not extending the strut and making the ride worse (probably)

@OregonTacomaMan - you asked about lift height, I measured before and after and I gained 2” in the front and almost 2.5” in the back (I left to the overload leaf in)

 

I love the look of the truck up a little higher and the new ride feel. Unfortunately I’m getting some light vibrations at low speeds around 15 and 25 mph. Once I get higher than that it’s completely gone. Also some vibes on deceleration around those as well. I did the carrier bearing drop kit and that helped it but I’m thinking my driveshaft angles are still off so I might get axle shims as well.


I know a lot of trucks are lifted on here so somebody has got to know the right mixture to stop the vibrations in the driveline, any help would be appreciated

Just did the Subaru tweeter swap this morning. The hardest part was disconnecting the harness from the OEM tweeter. Lost one clip for the speaker cover in the dash. Didn’t seem to be an issue as everything reassembled good. Much better sound. I will be doing the 4 door Kicker speaker swap next week when my order from Crutchfield gets delivered. After a month in the body shop, picked up the old lady with a new front end from @CBI Offroad Fab

 

Yea mine is meds and MTN DEW. But the VA does just throw meds at the situation rather than try to fix it. Went outside the VA system and got way more help.

The weed smoking is the weirdest thing. Considering that if any federal agency comes in contact with you they can still arrest you. Like the national parks forest rangers since most of us do enjoy the out doors. Also, you cannot buy a firearm ever. Even if you say you are not using weed. The VA next time they do a blood draw and they see the THC you can loose your benefits and the use of the VA. Don’t have the one hitter in your truck if your ever on federal land. That will still get you busted including the VA or any federal building and 100 yards around it.

I started skydiving a few years ago and joked about it being my therapy. Screwed my knee up last jump in April and have not jumped since. Been in kinda a dark place lately. So apparently I was not joking as much as I thought. I really need to throw myself out of an airplane to reset my headspace and timing.

"Dark place" being relative. Nothing compared to folks with real issues to work through. I just have not been my normal happy Red Foreman self.

No wonder a stranger came up to me in the parking lot and asked me what registering my truck cost me in Texas. Holy balls. He said he was moving from California and simply hinted that his registration was "a lot."

That's financial rape. What the hell are they spending it on? Can't be the roads.

Man where I live, Long Beach, we have some of the highest taxes in the state of Mississippi. When it was new it was a little under $800 if I remember correctly. It's ridiculous.

 

The cost is based on the MSRP of each vehicle. That was recently changed from the "value" of the vehicle to the MSRP a couple years or so ago.

 

I feel bad for you guys that depend on the VA, you put your lives on the line for our country and in return all they want to do is give out jar after jar of pills. Research shows THC, CBD, and cannabinoids have a lot of benefits that can help with PTSD, stress, and a lot of other things however, with it still being a schedule 1 substance (like meth, crack, pcp, and heroin) the federal government will not fund any research for it.

THANK YOU TO ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN THAT DEFEND OUR COUNTRY. Being free doesn't come free.
