Lease up in 2 months for my 2017 SR5 Tacoma 4x4 that i love. 2019's are plentiful and 2020 not on the lots yet. Is it worth waiting for 2020 or go with a 2019 and maybe a better deal? Anyone hear when the 2020 is coming out and will be at dealerships?

If you like it, why not buy it out? That is what I did with mine because I am not a fan of the TSS-P systems. Although if you want those, I would hold out for the 2020s because of the upgraded headlights, head unit, and power drivers seat.

The Toyota leasing arm folks were excellent. If you really want a 2020, maybe contact them and let them know your situation. They might extend the lease until the Taco that you want comes available since it is in their best interest to help you out.

Payment too high to buy out. I like leasing cause there's no worries , no repairs but I did think about buying truck since it's been so dependable.
I did talk to TSS and yes they are great, I can extend lease for 6 months month to month. I found a good deal on 2019 but can't commit. I guess i do want a 2020!! love that power seat and power back window that i know has been around for a year or two.
What's with the TOYO tires on the 2019? I have Firestone destination LE2 and are like new with 26K on them...

***UPDATE*** Purchased the 2019 TRD PRO VOODOO. 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4
*Moto Fab Lifts* Level Kit (3x2)(Comming soon)! Bed Mat. Hondo AR-15 Radio knobs. Weather Tech Rain guards. Diode Dynamics interior LED's.(Wish List), Center console divider. Keeper Gun Magnet. 2" hose clamp Tailgate mod (along with about half of the "Cheep/Free Mods").Oh, my favorite "mod" is the AJT DESIGN Key fobs! (will need two more Voodoo Blue).
Dump the SR5 and purchase a 2019. Now Is a great time to buy as the end of year is approaching and the 2020’s are arriving shortly. I just bought a 2019 TRD Pro thousands less than msrp.

... good deal for you. I know i have equity in the 2017. Maybe I need to go back to the table with dealer and have them sweeten the deal. What kind of tires came on your TRD? the SR5 2019 had TOYO Open Country. they look like street tires. I have firestone Destinations LE2 and are awesome, good tread on them with 26K miles.

It sounds like the 2020 is the way to go for you.

It seems that the Toyos came on the Sports and Destinations came on the SR / SR5? OR and Pro got the Wranglers. The Toyos are okay but do slip a bit too much in the the wet and on paint lines / tar snakes. They remind me of a motorcycle tire that I hated. They are good in the dry, snow, and offroad though.

I will be replacing them with AT Yokohama or Falken tires sometime this year. They have about half their tread at 25k now, but I wouldn't trust them to be much more worn than this.

Good luck with the next Taco.

well, you do love your 17 without power seats etc. why pay more for a truck with features you didnt need before? How much is it to buy the 17 you're driving now vs a new one? save 5k - 10k

The price of the 2020 will be higher than the 2019 and they are probably not going to deal on them for some time. If the features on the 2020 aren’t important to you go for a great deal on a 2019. That’s what I did. Other than the new features, they’re the same truck.

Anyone know if you have to put new tires on your lease at turn in time with TFS?

Asking bc I hate the Wranglers on my OR and they only have 7k on them, if I put better tires on now I could enjoy them and just put these crummy Wranglers back on when I return it..

I used to inspect lease returns for various banks and manufacturers. It varies from company to company but, some will ding you for new tires if they are below 4/32’’. Don’t know what TFS’s policy is. You might give them a call.

2020 all the way... watch for reported premium price gouging in the first group however. All things considered, do the month-to-month and wait for the perfect 2020 price..!

Have you run the numbers to figure out what it costs to be in a perpetual lease vs own? It might surprise you how much money is given away for the luxury of new car smell every 24 months.

Pay all the depreciation you can lease any vehicle...manufacturers love captive buyers because you’ll be back every 2-3 years to hand in the keys on a vehicle you can’t afford to own.
