Please be sure to make a bracket or something to support the hard to softline joint or you will have failure of the hardline leaving you without brakes.

Smack the plug with a hammer. Are you using a 6 point socket?

Find a better penetrant than WD 40.

If the dealership follows the same method as mine, they don't break apart the engine and transmission. Both are affixed to the body, and raised with the body. They only cut brake and fuel lines, separate the exhaust, drive shaft, motor and transmission mounts, etc

Much the same as mine, no sign on the outside until I pushed with my thumb, and it crumbled.

My warranty is up in october. Im gonna give it a real good look over sometime this month. My truck has been in Roanoke VA most of its life so I doubt anything will show up, but it did get CRC'ed so I guess anything is possible.

I need a backup for the moment.

    Unrelated...

Does anyone know of a good circuit under the hood that comes on with the ignition? I need to wire my fogs as DRLs to pass the import inspection.

I used an add a fuse that piggybacks off the dashboard gauge fuse for my AFR gauge, that way it's on whenever the truck is on.

edit - never mind just saw you mentioned under the hood, this one is inside the cab

Yah I think the cig lighter would also be a good one if I have to come through the firewall.

Check near the bottom of the fuse box under the hood for any unused pigtails. I found a couple the other day but didn't actually check if they were ignition hot cause I already pulled the battery and other stuff.

Got my new tailgate swing out installed last night, @GHOST SHIP makes them for 2nd gens and wanted to try out one for a 1st gen using my truck. Super happy with how it came out and looks, now I can finally get the spare out of my bed and free up some space, with room to mount some jerry cans on the other side of the tire since he designed it to be offset rather than centered.

Anyone local in the southern CA area should hit him up if you're interested in one.

Some pics (unpainted still, going to do that this weekend).

Might as well be one with how big our parking lot is, but nope it's an industrial lot.

Its easy to tell you work as a photo editor. Had to doctor up the pics of the truck lol.

What color you planning on painting it?

yeah that was just some quick Android photo app filters haha. Not quite deserving of the full blown Capture One/Photoshop treatment seeing as how they're just crappy camera pics.

Just going to paint it black, undecided on whether I'll use a lightly textured bedliner or just do a flat black paint.

I do like the bare metal look actually, though. But it'll need something to keep it from getting surface rust from the elements, especially with some of the places I take the truck.

I wouldnt do flat. Satin is what most bumper companies use as a powdercoat, so if you ever go that route up front atleast it will match.

It uses three of the mounting holes for the stock tailgate one each side, so 6 bolts total. The one Wilco used to make for our trucks that looks similar uses 6 total as well
