Interested to hear how the transmission shifts if its a Auto. From trading my DCLB 18 trd to getting the pro in 19, The whole truck seems different, yes of course its a pro I get that but fuel economy and transmission feel is completely different. To my knowledge the trd off road and pro have the same engine and transmission in the auto. Correct me if I am wrong?

I can't criticize; seems like I'm changing vehicles every couple of years. Seems like every time I fill the beast I consider going back to a Tacoma

But, then I'd still need a 3/4 ton truck for plow/landscaping duty, so any savings would immediately evaporate :notsure:

99% it's the same? I'm sure someone will come to the rescue and correct us if that's not the case.

In the 150 miles I've driven it in the last 24 hours, I can't say that how it shifts bothers me. My dad has a 2016 SR (also the same V6 and transmission I believe), got the chance to drive it up in Baxter and back from Millinocket to Farmington. Having already read so many posts on this forum about it, I think it made more me aware of the transmission quirks. But nothing that made me question getting a 3rd gen myself.

Hah, I've seen the pics of your truck working both here and on FB!

For what I'll use this truck for, it's overkill. I could have rationally got myself an SR5 and saved quite a few bucks. This is my first brand new vehicle purchase, I plan to keep it a long time. Figured go big.

My 18 drove me insane. I'm a tech so I am super intune to everything by nature. I had it reprogrammed 3 times and it got better but would hold gears forever and random downshift going downhills. This new truck is seamless. Keep me posted as you drive it more. I love these trucks and don't blame you for opting for the better!

Honestly I think that a lot of the shifting complaints about the new auto come from people not being used to a truck with variable shift mapping. Because it shifts whenever is best for fuel economy ahead of the current power demands from the driver (unless it's in Tow/Haul) it never shifts when people expect it to, so they notice it and assume something's wrong. Or they notice it and get annoyed, lol.

Eh. You could always buy something bare bones and save $. Doesn't mean you always have to. Especially if you're keeping it long-term, you don't want to be kicking yourself for not opting for something to fill in those switch blanks.

Yeah the switch blanks in mine are a little annoying. But that's what I get for buying a base model 2nd gen. Just more room for upgrades!

Same engine (V6), same transmission (6 speed auto) but the rear end things are different. I think th Sr, sr5, and sport have one gearing. OR, pro or sport manual transmission have the same gearing.

My bumper looked the same. Pulled it off and hammered the dents out (it’s thin metal) painted it and popped it back on. Easy job.

I thought that was the case. Went at it with a 5 pound sledge and other assorted impact instruments. No luck. The supports are twisted on the ends making it nearly impossible to straighten. I was thinking about an aftermarket one, but they're a little pricey.

I'm not about to go through 140 pages to find folks so I'll ask: anyone in/around Augusta? I'm new to the area and would love to talk "shop" and possibly recruit for help putting a Headstrong lift on in the near future.

Selling my RCI off-road rock sliders. Fits 3rd Gen DCSB. Came powder coated from the factory. I bought them in Colorado when I lived there but have since moved to Maine. Selling them because my kids keep getting their legs stuck getting out of the truck and I’m worried they’re going to break their leg. The powder coating has chipped in some places and there’s a small amount of surface rust in those spots. They’ve never seen a New England winter. $400 firm. I’m in Cape Elizabeth and am available evenings and weekends.

*its mud, not rust that you can see in the picture.
