Well, It was the timing chain. Ruined the engine.
She was a few hundred miles short of 441,000 miles...
    -moment of silence-
Ok, now we tear that puppy out and spend $580.00 dollars for a used one with 12,000 miles!
Thanks for all the advice. I learned some great tips.

probably. My mom's old '87 4 runner's timing chain jumped a tooth at around 200k but only one tooth just made it run bad, not make the valves hit the pistons. It still runs to this day with well over 300k.

Up until a few days ago, when all hell broke loose, all I did to my truck was change out the passenger side rear wheel seal and replace the starter. Both at around 350,000. Whats really crazy is I still had the original clutch. 440,000 miles... Everything else was all original...

Reading this thread as I am having the same issue with my 98 tacoma (2.4L 4 cyl.) New starter today. Still won't crank. Original clutch replaced at 514,724 Miles and when checked today the flywheel appears to be intact with no missing teeth. I hadn't thought to check the timing chain. Will check that next I guess.
