What would you recommend for someone who doesn’t have a spring compressor? Bolt them on, see how it looks, and get them compressed somewhere if it looks off?

Agree w/ @Bubble Wrap, the 2.0 thread is helpful. I ended up with 4 turns difference b/t drivers and passenger sides. Autozone rents a spring compressor and it was quite easy to compress the spring enough to spin the adjuster (actually, I found it easier to hold the adjuster and spin the shock body).
There's no harm with throwing them on and seeing where you end up. Best case, you're happy with it. Worst case, you end up pulling at least one side off again, adjusting, reinstalling and having to get a second alignment. Give it a few days for the coils to settle before you make any decisions.

Well I managed to get my Fox front and rear shocks on yesterday. I was expecting more of a lift. I don't have measurements because my wife's granddad who helped insisted on measuring from the ground to the fender so I just said screw it and didn't bother keeping track. I'm still running stock tires though. I'm not sure if that will make any difference in distance?

Hi everyone, I've gone through this whole thread, but I still have a question.
I've ordered the extended version 2.5's w/dsc. If I'm only looking for about 1-1.5" of lift, do I still need to get new upper control arms?
If so, I guess I need to order now
    Thanks

    Cheers

    list is growing fast
for extended length, yes. it's about the down travel of the shock, independent of lift height. Stock UCA's won't allow the shock to extend all the way and may hit the coil at full droop, which is bad.

In addition to the above post about droop...yes.

Technically no, but you should. Alignment numbers will be much better and the suspension will work/feel better with after market UCAs simply because the angles are better. I drove mine with 1.5 inches of lift on stock UCAs for nearly a year before going with the Icon delta joint UCAs and the difference in ride quality was night and day.

    Hi guys,

Quick question regarding 1st gen 2.5 Fox C/O. Theyve been installed since May of this year however, my front end feels loose. It was immediately noticed after installation so i would say C/O related.

I believe it's the spherical bearing and metal sleeve. Instructions state "install lower mount to LCA with longer spacer to rear of vehicle." However, there was only one spacer per side with a line marked in the spacer. Did they provide me with the wrong spacer?

I remembered I couldn't reuse stock bolt/nut because it wouldnt fit through the spacer. Instructions say to reuse so I'm onto something. Do all coilover 2.5s come with this?

Got it. Problem is I was sent a a single 1/2" spacer for each side - which went through the spherical bearing and reached the LCA (a few MM's short actually). Stock 14mm bolt didnt fit for obviously reasons so I had to source a smaller one. Let's hope the LCA holes didnt get elongated!

Mine came from Accutune with the wrong bushings installed but the "right" ones supplied in the box. So I had to swap them. Also, I say "right" ones as they were the correct ID but were too wide to fit between the mounting tabs. Had a bitch of a time installing the lower shock bolt because the bushings were not quite right. How hard is it supply the right bushing? I'm not the only one either. Apparently this is the bushing they think is the right one or close enough. It's just piss poor service. They claim to have all this knowledge about shock tuning and can't even be bothered to supply the correct parts.

Also sent me the front 2.5's with the collar rotated such that the allen set bolt was facing inward and did not notice until after install when I went to make an adjustment. You'd think their techs would be trained to supply them with the set bolt on the collar facing outward or at least make a not of it in the install instructions. I know now but first time DIY'er isn't going to know this.

On top of the above issues, my shocks aren't tuned any better than off the shelf ICON's I had before. Their solution is to have me spend hours under my truck taking them off and sending back for re-tune which will result in my truck being down for a week or two since my old shocks had to be cut off due to seized nuts and can't be reinstalled. Not that I'd even entertain the idea of doing it all over again 2x. It's my DD and can't afford the downtime. They had all the specs on my truck up front so what's gonna be different the second time around?

Rant over - As you can tell not happy with Accutune

Mine wasn't facing out on one side. Wish someone would have warned me before hand. Or better - Supplier (Accutune, I'm talking to you) could have rotated the collar to the correct position before sending to customer.

Hi Keith, I am sorry you are not happy and we have reached out to you multiple times in order to try and make you happy. We offer a free revalve with every purchase and have offered to pay shipping both ways. I am also sorry that you injured yourself during the install, are unwilling to remove the shocks again, and are not closer to us.

In regards to the rear shock fitment we are limited to the bushings and sleeves Fox makes. Fox does not make a better fitting bushing so we are not able to provide a better solution.

We do not adjust the preload or turn any of the spring adjusters. The spring preload nuts are exactly as Fox supplies them.
Every vehicle is different and each customer will need to make their own adjustments to compensate for their weight and desired ride height.

We try our best to make every customer happy, and our offer to re-valve your shocks still stands.

    Thank you,
    Ryan
