    the rough idle did not happen until i install the super charger and cam gears. compression and leak down are good. plugs about 1k on them as n/a at .44 gap. then regaped for supercharger. it runs good other wise, so not stressing to much, just curious.

    I run one range as well which is the IKH-22. I was just thinking if it made things easier for tuning than why not.

    Exploring different options and spitballing new ideas is all.

    There is not enough info here to condemn anything if it was all installed at once then the slight idle change may be normal. Next time I'm need the area I'd like to see what the truck feels like at idle. Admittedly I have not been near the Bakersfield area in a few years though.

    Hang on. You gapped the plugs? You gapped Iridium's? What did you use to gap them?

    i used a feeler gauge and tapped the back side of the ground lug till it touched the feeler gauge. i held the feller gauge in the whole time while gaping so i was not sliding it in and out multiple time.
    the oe gap was .044" and gap to .032" as per the magnuson instructions.

    nobody ever comes near bakersfield if they can help it. :rofl::bananadead:

    I hate to say it, but ya fucked up Jimmy. :bananadead::rofl: It is highly likely that you gaffed up the Iridium coating off the plugs either scraping it away or knocking it loose, making them no less effective than coppers, even then, coppers are 100% of the material. Iridium's are not so once the coating comes off they are actually less effective than a copper plug.

    Do I think this has anything to do with your idle situation? No, but longevity wise you may have hammered it away. Lol.

    we can do this with HPT too! We can also trim spark advance.

    I too would keep all plugs the same heat range.

    This is good to know actually. I didn't realize HPT was sophisticated to that extent.

    I retract my spark plug with a different heat range on bank 2 idea then. :D

    Yup. Always best to keep the mechanical components the same. Let the difference be in the tune.

    I have gapped plenty of iridiums. Bend the ground down, then check with a feeler gauge. Just don't force the gauge in if there is any pressure. Don't man-handle sensitive equipment.

    Just be really nice to it. Some fine point needle noise pliers will help if you bend the ground too much in opening the gap back up again. Just do what you can to stay away from the Iridium coating itself. Until it is time to check the gap.

    I’m unsure of what tuner he is using but I can find out. I have spoken with VCM performance here which are a distributer of Magnuson sc and they have hp tuners. But when I spoken with them they said they do NOT have the Hilux TRD on there tuner. So they are useless to me.

    Yes this problem is with petrol. I have had the lpg system installed but I’m not using it yet as that needs to be tuned to match the petrol side of things. So until this issue is sorted I will not be using lpg.

    I can’t answer the question about korrnor less fuel for energy dense because I just don’t know.

    As far as I know he has deleted the code for the auto trans.

    I don’t know the afr as it’s all being done by the dyno guy. I could get him to send me some dyno graphs he has already done and put them up here.

    Staying with upgaded drum brakes for now. Don't really see alot of reason to switch to disc brakes at the moment. All the weight is up front. To me rear disc brakes is an optional upgrade with additional expense.

    Well if it comes to a point ask if you can presserize the intake system for any leaks, same as if you take brake clean looking for a vacuum leak. Another thing is while pricey I would see if you can get a tacoma ecu thats similar to your setup, flash it with the trd tune and see if works. At least it'll build a consistency between usdm and aud vehicles and take the problem solving from there.

    Well, I also pretty much worked like 90% of the last 6 months straight. This last month I worked 6 night shifts, has a day and half off, worked 8 days straight, had 2 days off, now im working 6 nights again. So yeah. OT out the ass, but tired AF.

    Yeah we shut down the Boiler 2 months ago so I got a month of OT, and last week we found the exact same issue that shut us down 2 months ago. So shutting down again in October. Prob gonna pay off a bunch more shit with that OT lol

    But yeah, probably early next month I'll be camping Hollister again for the first time this year since the truck has been mostly FUBAR.
