It did not in the beginning driving all of the Tacomas, but the low quality and problems reared their ugly head. I looked at a Tundra full size and it is just ugly and low to the ground. So I looked at a Chevy.

When I bought my Taco, I was deciding between a Z71 and a Taco.

I like the smaller size truck for general daily driving. The fullsize is better on the highway and towing..... I eventually decided that I'd get the Taco knowing that resale is stupid good. IF I didn't like it, I'd sell then buy the Z71. I still wouldn't buy a pro though.

OP- why are you talking shit about bolt on modifications to a Tacoma but think that doing a non reversible lift that you have to cut a frame cross member on the Chevy is just no big deal?

It does not cut the frame..this is what it does. Welded in plate.

Also supplied are new lower control arm cam bolts to allow alignment and a weld-in frame reinforcement plate for extra strength.

Lots of stupid in here. Those new Silverados are kinda like the new girl at school. They smell really nice for awhile and are fun to look at, until you realize she has genital warts.

Moral to the story is, Chevy has genital warts.

FWIW, I traded my taco for a 19 Silverado rst. I miss the coolness of my Taco, but then when I get in to drive it I realize why I did it. So much more comfortable and a little better mpg surprisingly.

You can thank the government for that. Most likely Toyota engineers designed a great truck then the regulation guys and bean counters got involved. If it weren't for potential warranty costs they'd probably make the ECU code open source.

OP is a troll but I do enjoy him flaming the modded OR faux Pro crowd, the conversation rears its head when a Pro is mentioned lol. Also forgot the Pro head/tail lights on that list. They can be had below MSRP mine was $42K, everyone sees market adjustment and automatically assumes thats the only price they come in. Im sure the 19s' will be coming off the lot around that price range within weeks.

I was hell bent on getting a TRD Pro, then I sat down and actually went over everything and found that the PRO is over priced in my opinion. Instead I tracked down a OR with all of the above options and a 6 speed M/T less the grill and suspension, grill was $179 and took about 15 m install, ordered accutune 4A King Suspension (far better then stock Fox), and with a new set of tires I'll still be 7-9k below PRO price. If you haven't noticed, Tacomas have a HUGE aftermarket and there's a reason that 90% of people say OR is the way to go.

Wait. Can you call someone bro if you drive an OR? I thought that voided your warranty unless you had the Pro.

Oh.....that clears it up. Welding to the frame. Definitely less permanent than bolts.
