Hey thanks for the link, but I finally remembered why I couldnt use those files. Windows defender is picking up a trojan on the key gen app, did you just disable or bypass defender to install, or did it not alert for you?

    You're welcome!

Oh yeah. Defender lit up on both the V14 install and the keygen file. I allowed them to continue.

I got the same stuff with the OVT software and FORScan, which is the Mazda / Ford version of TS.

Right on, giving it a shot

Any need to idle for 5-10 after the update?

    Enjoy!

Soooo . . . folks both agree and disagree with me, but after seeing some positive changes on my Taco, I would recommend doing the DTC and LV Resets in TS (or OVT FM if you are dongleless). After that, do a 6min idle preferably on a warm engine. @OVTune has said 5min lately and I have noticed no idle changes after about the 6min mark?

    You're welcome.

Heck yeah. I would be interested to hear about it also.

Some folks flashed back to 04B13 after some time on OVT and it was said to be pretty eye opening.

    Fingers crossed!

My 2017 is at my dealership and lead tech is informed that I'm having halting/surge issues. They are aware of TSB. I haven't gotten a phone call after 2 hours, so I'm choosing to think that's an optimistic sign. Wish me luck!(just in case that works). I'll let ya'll know how it goes...

Dang it. They didn't do it.
The tech broke my piggy bank though, and he's a Hellboy fan, so felt terrible.

Help me out...I asked him to make up for it by talking his tech into doing tsb.

Razz me for not looking back through if you must, but what tsb do I refer him to for my August 2017 TRD Pro?

Thanks for the offer brother much appreciated! Believe it or not the Service Manager called one day just to ask how my truck was doing and if I needed anything, I mentioned the Surge TSB and he told me to stop in some time!

So updating to the newer ECU was a major difference. Running the newer ECU 04B71, the name of the game was SMOOTH, but MUTED. I definitely missed the mid range power of OVtune. Then, the difference between the tune on 04B70 and 04B71 was a game changer. Still mostly smooth, but alot of mid range power. The wife even remarked about how much more aggressive it was, without being over the top or too much tip in. She compared it to our turbo subie.

So if you aren't tuned, get your ass a cable and update your ecu. If you are tuned, go ahead and update right now! It will make your current tune run that much smoother.
