No. I wanted to try it myself, so my friend, my neighbor, and I will attempt this ourselves. lol! We'll see. I was gonna have the bodyshop do it but they told me the car was already pretty much done. And they told me that two days ago. And still now, no phone call, no nothing. I should have my truck back since Wednesday.

lol! I understand. The way they bond that latch to the hood is questionable. Can't blame you for considering hood pin. lol!!

Hey. Did you remove the scoop cover or left it in?

I left the cover in for now. I'm considering an air filter upgrade for MPGs (and HP, and...well because) but haven't looked into ram air vs something else. Don't even know if it's a good spot for it or if these run under the front yet tbh. I've also seen some LED lighting in there. Hopefully it's not a problem leaving it in for now and doesn't get too messy.

The install itself was really easy. The hardest part (so far) was the windshield wiper line - those square clips didn't fit the holes so I had to dremel them a bit to make them larger. Easy enough. But, the wiper fluid itself doesn't quite clip in straight it seems, so they don't shoot as high up the windshield and they splash a bit on the OEM plastic tray there. May have to adjust that a bit at some point as well.

Other than that, the rest of the stuff popped off the OEM hood easy enough, my wife and I slapped it back together and bolted it down. Agree the latch bonding is...shaky. But we'll see how it goes!

Can you tell if there my be a way to possibly beef up the latch any way, just to give a little more peace of mind? I wouldn’t want to use pins either. Can you snap a pic of the latch portion of the hood?

To be honest, I'm not sure if there is. But, only because I don't know too much about all that. Here's some shots and a video of it latching if that's helpful though. If someone figures it out, I'd love to avoid pins if I could. Not trying to get revved at lights by civic or anything.

edit: guess I can't upload a video here, but I've got one if it's useful I can throw it up somewhere else too.

Finish looks decent. Latching looks questionable in regards to strength. Its concerning since driving with stock hood you could see the hood fluttering from the built air flowing from engine compartment. Thanks for posting.

I think @sprjr will have the best chance at testing this "no hoodpin" theory. If it can survive category 5 hurricane, it's safe to say we can run it without the pins.

Jokes aside, stay safe brother. That hurricane is serious.

The sprayer nozzles come in three different angles, so you might just need a different angle if it's spraying too low now.

Hood looks great, by the way.

Thanks man. Lucked out on the curve ball, so now we're sitting on 80 bottles of water and tons of canned food and our camp butane fuel for...the next one maybe? That being said, it was a reminder that I'd rather just get some decent tanks that I can haul with us on trips instead of dealing with all the chaos at the store when the water runs out...

One things I've noticed so far on the hood though: the front mesh they include appears to be rusting already. I'm gonna take a closer look this weekend but that was a bit of a bummer. I'm also wondering if water and bugs are gonna gum up inside that area and what cleaning it out might look like - especially if we're gonna have more sideways-rain-weather on deck.

    Still stock completely capable!
Someone posted a while back it is optional. There is a metal piece you can take off if you want it to be.

Dang that looks good man, how's the overall fitment of the hood? Seems like the seams line up pretty well

Thanks! So far I love it.

Overall fitment is nice actually! We didn’t even have to adjust it which I figured we’d need to a little. Guess we got lucky.

Thinking about getting one and painting it like my stock hood's vinyl setup. With an extra coat of clear, it should age just fine.

Here you guys. CF Hood on Silver Taco. What da ya think? Video will come when I get my new headlights and low pro bumper installed.
    * Things to note:
    1. Installation was easy. (Two person job). New bolt supplied. Do use the set that comes with the hood. Do not use the original bolt! Don't over tight them or you will hear the dreaded crack noise. Snug is good enough.
    2. Alignment takes no time at all. 15 minutes top.
    3. Latch perfect to the car. Did not have to play with the alignment at all.
    4. Windshield washer nozzle assembly hooked in place nicely like OEM fit. No play. (I did not get the weird angle spray. It spray perfectly).
    5. Be careful not the push the hood down too hard. It's thin. very thin.
    6. Ripple effect during the drive at 25-90 mph is not a problem. I was actually surprise it handle the way it did. Doesn't give me any sign of worry. Windy day too. (Hood scoop blocked off. I didn't remove the cover)
