That confused me at first, as well. When I realized that I picked wings, I became even more confused.

When I was growing up we butchered a lot of chickens twice a year for my grandma, aunt and uncle and us. As a kid my brother and I had the job of plucking. My dad and grandma cut the chickens up. My grandma would save all the feet. She came from a family of 24 children. She was 4th from the youngest and born in 1904. There was nothing to waste but the head when she was growing up. Grandma took these feet and would boil them and peel the yellow part off and eat the gristle off the bone. My aunts favorite was the neck and back.

Thigh has much more flavor
