A data base of mass shootings in the United States going back to 1982 counts 114 such incidents resulting in 932 deaths.
In the United States an average of 30 people die every day as a result drunk driving accidents. About one person every 48 minutes (NHTSA 2018) Almost as many people die because of drunk drivers in the average month as have been killed in mass shootings in the last 37 years.

The leading cause of death in children in the United States – not guns, not drunk drivers. The leading cause of death in children in the United States is abortion over 61.5 million since Roe vs Wade 1973.

 

I always thought San Francisco would be a great place to visit. Not so much now.

 

And might I add the over 70,000 drug related deaths (avg, of 192 per day), and then there's the at least 200,000 people that are killed by hospitals each year.
Barely a mention of any of these statistics, only focus is on one thing!

Hi Ken, I'm good. We lucked out with a very glancing blow. Other than the rain - been raining all day, but not heavy, it's really been a non issue for us. Those on the coast not so lucky, but haven't heard how bad they got pounded. News did say it wasn't good, but not as bad as expected.

 

Glad to hear you made out okay. Hurricane season is always a real pita but can't mess with mother nature.

I have a question that I can't find an answer to...I suck at Google
Since static electricity season is going to start soon...winter, low humidity, etc...my question concerns gas pumps.
Does aluminum discharge static electricity when you touch it?

If I get the chance I'll still go just to see and drive across the Golden Gate Bridge; and I'd like to take Alcatraz tour if they still do that. PCH trip from WA down to Monterrey Bay is still a bucket list trip for me.

Randy's son lives there. Works 2-3 jobs to make rent, etc; but he loves it. They have family there and his son is tight with cousins. The city is still worth it for him. FWIW.
