I've been downsizing a lot and getting rid of stuff I don't need, but I've also been putting more work into the truck to enjoy it more. I want to minimize bills as much as possible so I'm in the middle of trying to balance working a full work week, but still keeping a somewhat social life.

Yeah I just did a bunch of debt consolidation, trying to get debt free within 2 years. Thankfully the stuff I work on is so fucked up we shut down constantly, so its constant OT. Not to mention how understaffed we are lol. Goal is to get debt free by about 2021 and then save up for a hefty down payment on a Camaro.

Right now just doing some needed fixes to the truck just to get to running again and reliable and some upgrades that have been sitting on the shelves for so long I might as well install while its in the shop. Dropping to 33s and 4.10 gears for less stress on the truck and, you know, keeping my alignment for more than a month at a time. As well as being able to turn fully again.

Yeah I ended up pulling the truck off wheeling duty until I can tube the front end. Right now the focus is getting my stuff paid down or sold off so it is out of my life. It sounds like work is constantly busy for you so that's good job security. I drove a new Camaro last year and that thing was an epic drive. I enjoyed it so much I'll be driving another as rental. I would love to have one but simplicity for me. Less is more these days.

Yeah the rear diff issues had me scared to wheel the truck for fear of getting stranded on a hill somewhere trying to swap out a diff lol. I had a brief scare at work where I thought I was going to be jobless and realized how unprepared I was for unemployment, so I made debt my priority.

Yeah my boss wants me to buy a Mustang, but eh, I really like the new Camaros. I'm leaning towards finding like a 2020 or 2019 ZL1 in like 2021 or 2022. That way I can pay it off before I get tired of the power and want more upgrades for it and such.

I've had a few scares also that have made me rethink my priorities. Debt right now is the priority and the management of it. 2 years is what I'm going for as far as paying off the truck too. Maybe sooner. I actually have to check how much I owe on it just to get a gauge of where I am.

Those ZL1s are pretty awesome. With that sort of baseline and engine architecture, I hear the new TVS2600 will fit on it quite easily. ;)

Yeah truck is almost paid off, couple little loans, and some credit cards I consolidated and closed. Hoping for alot of extra OT to make debt free faster :D.

Yeah I think I'll be pretty happy with an LS for a while lol

I miss the LS platform myself. It's easy. They are leakers though so watch out for that.

Just a few small things for me as well. Truck, selling the bike, a credit card or two, the rest is regular stuff. Rent, insurance, cell bills. You know.

Yeah I've been doing some minor research into the newer Camaros. Definitely gonna go with some sort of warranty at least until its paid off so I don't have to worry about something being fucked up and having to pay for it.

I don't know much about the new trannies, the 6 and the 8 speeds. The old school 4L60-65e series ones had a great build concept, but we're executed just horribly as far as internals and integrity of those said internals went. They were very sloppy and "loose" feeling for lack of better terms and required a heavy amount of upgrading to get right. Cryo treated sunshells, Kevlar clutch packs, shift kits, the works.

I think if I remember right the 65e were designed to take 330-350HP at most and the LS2s were 400 horse engines. It's a good call on warranty. I think GM has either a 5 or 7 year 100K powertrain warranty.

Do post your progress. I’m having to the same (bad piston/engine). Except that I’m going: bad engine with SC->new engine NA (with difference ECU)->6-12 months wait —> SC install. I’m going to try BD->TRD before I remove SC on my current set up. Curious how yours turns out. Good luck

Yeah that is always an option. I’ll relay that to the dyno guy and go from there. He is as lost as I am so any help is appreciated. Thanks

I definitely will. My truck has been laid up since March. I’ve been strung along by BullyDog claiming that a fix is on its way but there has been zero progress.

The HP tuner should be here Friday. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Yes. I gave them all the measurements and angles they needed to do those. But the fab guy apparently didnt want to fuck up on the shock mounts so they included some in the box, but wouldn't burn them in. That's fine, I can get it done.
