Ah, ok. My supports are about 1/2" from the pinch weld, consistently all the way down the square rail.

oversight by me and my friend that built my sliders, we thought as close up to the cab as absolutely possible was best for clearance and completely forgot about cab movement.

Have you actually dropped the weight of your truck on your sliders yet? All the videos I see, there is some minimal flex on the sliders when they impact. How much flex? I don't know. I hope 1/2" is enough room to flex if I ever drop down onto mine.

oh no, it's not the sliders going up lol. I've had the weight on my sliders a lot. it's the cab coming DOWN to the sliders. any bump on the road anything at all really and I had an annoying knock on my pinch weld.

I'm gonna jack my truck up from my sliders this weekend and see how much the sliders flex with weight. I don't plan on ever dropping the whole weight of my truck on the sliders, since I'm more of a crawler than a romper. For actually sliding across rocks, I think any quality set of sliders will do the job well.

I learn something new every day! Makes sense now, how the cab can compress the cab bushings and push the pinch weld into your sliders.

correct. yeah the frame twists and whatever but your sliders aren't going UP to the cab, as you said the bushings are compressing and coming down.

I agree and will probably be the case for sure. That image was actually from a Bahama tourism post off of twitter saying don't cancel your trip. We need your tourism dollars.

Most places I knew of around huntsville are closed off now or subdivisions.

There are a lot of trails up in skyline though.

you will bang your sliders very hard even crawling it's unavoidable. It won't be the entire weight of the truck because you're not flipped, but for an instant it will be more for sure on the impact.

You may want to replace your cab bushings. I know they're meant to flex and absorb, but how much did the cab have to move to touch?

At least you did it right and work from the head to your feet. I'm in the process of cleaning ceilings, and I'm not paying anyone so it's a long process. My flooring needs to be replaced, but it can wait till all ceilings are done, then walls, and then flooring.

you don't still have popcorn do you?

You can drop the weight of your truck in your sliders at any speed. I’m sure we have all done it, a little shift of a loose rock is all it takes.
