Clazzio leather seat covers!

I should really install my fronts...they've been sitting in the box since April

Rears have been on for a while now.

 

Tell me about it.

Are the fronts difficult to do? I got the rears put on in about an hour with no problems except trying to figure out how to tie the strings.

 

Mine took 16 weeks, lol...and I've only installed half of them. But, it's been too damn hot also...

 

The big one for the belt is easy...it's the little ones around the pull tabs that'll get ya...I kinda ripped the cover trying to get it on one of those bastards.

 

I did my rears this weekend. Piece of cake. Although the headrests were a little difficult.

I'm having the fronts installed tomorrow. I was going to do it myself, but I'm adding heat so I'm having a Pro wire them and install the covers.

One thing that I think helped a lot was I put the covers on my tonneau for a few hours in the sun before trying to put them on. The heat made them a little more pliable.

 

We had no problem. My wife and I installed them in about an hour and half. I did lay all of them out on the spare bed for a few days. If you have any plastic auto trim tools helps around the seat belt areas, just take it easy and work them under. There really easy to install.

 

I have Leatherette seat covers, purchased from and installed by an upholstery shop. For 2 front seats it was $600Cdn (about $450 US) and $100Cdn for a pro install was well worth it.

 

Wow those are nice. do they need to be professionally installed?

Just got my fronts done. Happy with them. Not sure I like the arm rest lid cover.

 

if you spend a few minutes tucking the seam on the sides of the center console cover it looks way better.

 

Anyone order these in Canada?

Autoeq.ca looks like they have them , wondering if they're legit. Also, sucks the coupon code does not work for Canadians!

 

I purchased the kit from clazzio, it is a rostra kit with an oem style switch. I put the heating elements on the seat covers before installing them. I haven't wired the yet but it seems pretty straight forward, I'm thinking I will just use a couple add-a-circuit fuse taps on the sunroof and seat heater fuse locations inside the cab, since my truck has neither of those options and they should both be on accessory power. I will take pictures and try to post a beginner friendly write up when I run the wires.

 

$450 just got install? Damn I’m in the wrong business. Ok just saw $100 for install.

 

I just finished doing the fronts this weekend with the heating fabric, very easy to apply the fabric elements and run the wires for them, but that is as far as I got. The fabric tape holds them in place, while you pull the covers over, no tape residue if you have peel it off to move or adjust the fabric to where you want it positioned on the seat. Basically I ran it along the seat seam lines, where the sides meet the center sections. Unlike some videos, I did not have to cut or shorten the fabric for the seat surfaces. I would suggest tilting the seat backs, most if not all the way, to make pushing the fabric wiring through easier and allowing you to tuck the fabric further into the cushioning. I ran the 2 wires from each fabric under the inside seat track for now, as I plan to finish the electrical part of it next weekend. Last suggestion, as I learned it along the way.....make sure you run the tightening straps from the front of the base covers, above the seat track adjustment bar - it was probably in the directions, but I missed it and learned quickly why my seat wouldn't stay locked on the seat track! I had same reaction when first installing mine. I cut some foam to size and reinstalled with the foam under the flat surface.
totally love how it came out. cushier and cleans up the sagging sides. I removed cover from console and disassembled to make things easier
to work on. not sure it was necessary, but not hard.
the foam tension keeps those bumper holes in place too. the whole thing seemed real sloppy til i added the foam.

Nice! You got through the hardest part. I think the headrests took more time than the back seats. I had the fronts and heat installed by a pro so I can’t comment on them. Based on the charge though I don’t think they were that difficult.

 

Mine came in today and will probably install a portion after the Saints game, at least the driver seat.
