Maybe y’alls trucks are better than mine. The exhaust smell was pretty unbearable when I had no cats. Never doing that again on a daily driver.

New resonator and two 45° angles bends arrived today. The parts will be lined up and alignment tack welds burned in. Then titty pink stacks of dimes will be carefully placed. I'm at the finish line.

Hope y'all had a fun Labor Day weekend.

    A small update:

I finally spent the time cleaning off all the mil scale from my welding table (what a bitch), put up dual monitors (for tuning of course), working on two belt wraps, fabbing up a jig to attempt to make my own merge collectors, and finishing up the latest y-pipe.

Dude that mil scale is no joke! I'd use stainless but like ferrous for the magnetism.

It's just too hard to do comp work nowadays without multiple monitors.

Also note the JFRacing sign the wife got me for Fathers Day. Its above the monitors in the far pic.

Missed the sign in the second picture.

Looking awesome dude! I was also busy during the holiday weekend. Starting mocking up my KEG muffler and fittings. It is a pretty large muffler to fit under the skirt of the FJ. Here’s a couple of shoots from the mock up:896732A0-F7A0-4F8A-9885-09F83BA790FB.jpgFF904222-2DFA-4898-BD35-554F62C9DF40.jpg

It does hang down just a little bit further than a normal suitcase muffler, but it doesn’t hang down below the fuel tank, so I think I’ll be good. I originally only planned on installing a band on the back of muffler and leavin all other connections alone, but after having another hour long wrestle with the URD slip fit rear of the axle, I bought two more v bands to really make it easy to work on.

On Sunday I got it all welded out, minus about 1/2” when I ran out of shielding gas! What a pain in the ass. Got her all welded up and back on the truck Tuesday. First impression: WOW how civilized! URD headers, JFR Y pipe and this muffler are a match made perfect. Interior resonance is gone, idle is quiet, but noticeable. Throttle raps are throaty, but not too loud. Interior noise is stock, plus a hint of growl. I’m currently running this dumped after the axle as my last v band got jacked up. I might have grabbed one of the metal lock nuts while I was wrestling around under the truck. Oops.
All in all, I’m super stoked. The sound is good, the noise level is ideal, and the performance is in wholly unaffected. I’ll circle back with a couple of sound clips when I get the tail pipe back on.

    Roost, thanks again man!

PS, I will have several magnaflow mufflers and a custom stainless works muffler for sale soon....

YES!!! Long live "The KEG"!!! Super stoked you like it!

I have one more left that is already slated for @DiamondW. He will be coming to my house for a y-pipe and KEG install when I get his y-pipe finished. Beer and bbq WILL happen!
I hear he really knows how to massage the meat (pun intended)! I am looking forward to being on the receiving end of this one.
