Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.

Damn, that is quite a deal. I have a CVT Mt Rainier Extended version with annex and floor that I am selling used, but I wouldn't be able to give it away at those prices.

So you guys have piqued my interest to dig a little deeper. I now have a couple of "recommended" brands from others on offroad forums (TW and others). Seems that there are a couple that folks are reporting very good experiences with. What kills it is shipping.

This guy (on ih8mud) ordered a hard shell case and says that he would do it again in a heartbeat and that a similar tent would cost double otherwise.

So I guess that leaves the question of how much it would cost to get shipped here. If you add $5-600 on top of the cost of the tent, then you might as well buy the Smittybilt from 4WP for $900. At least that way you have a throat to choke if needed. But if you could get the shipping down around $200, then it still works out in our favor. I may reach out tomorrow and see what shipping options look like.

$1500 right now, comes with annex/floor and extra channel so you don't have to remove the cover from the base to install the annex. Been a great tent, just looking to get a larger one. We bought it new in Colorado from CVT for $2450 shipped, probably a bit overpriced, but we enjoy it....whatever it takes to get the wife out and camping to keep the family together then it is money well spent in my mind.

You should totally rent it out. That's actually a really good idea. Also, I like Ironman. The stuff from them that I have had has been really good quality. From what I understand, the original engineers for OME got pissed off at ARB and decided to start their own company.

Good deal for sure, how does one start down the path of RTT? You need a bed rack? How much do those start at? Looks like a fun way to get out.

Yep, all you need is a set of load bars/bed rack.
Now that you mention it, I have a steel half Bed Rack that I could also Rent out.

I forget their name, but their is a company that rents out offroad teardrop trailers for over $100 a night. They definitely do not do rent-to-own.

Feel like you could make some decent cash, at least to earn back what you spent!
