Got a school bus that picks up & drops off a severely handicapped child in a wheelchair on my route home. He turns his lights on & everything stops for at least 15 min. Now, my heart goes out to the child & family but really? Like what’s he/she gonna do. Run out in traffic? Had a chat with the driver & feel he’s the handicapped one.

Rant over.

 

I feel your pain but the school bus wouldn’t bother me it’s the fact that other conductors/engineers not sure proper title haul butt on this particular crossing and this one person goes I swear 5-10mph every other morning. Adds a additional 20min to the commute and backs traffic way up. Maybe there is more to it for the slowness but I’ve planned this into the commute now.
I have alternate routes I could take but adds the same amount of time if I just wait.
Rant over as well.

Oh, and I'm a religious person, but I just got that Al Qaida kinda cold chill on the back of my neck.

Judging by the fact that there was nothing about a terrorist attack downtown, it was likely just two really good friends praying in a time of need

 

Have a student who drags his feet every day and just has a bad attitude in general. He got his SAT score back and it was shit, idk what happened if his mom kicked his ass or he finally realized he's a senior and this is it or what but whatever it is he really flipped a switch and i'm happy for him. Glad we can finally start making some progress.

The place I work for is probably the most expensive place in town and if you're not taking advantage of the time you have why even show up. To get the best you pay for the best, and our results back that up. Hopefully we can get him up into his goal range now.

 

We heard it go down on the radio, happened just before we got to San Marcos, we had to stop for a while cause of it. We did see all the emergency vehicles. And all of San Marcos is a quiet zone, meaning no horn just bells thru the crossings.
