    The main thing is that it adds another p5 school to the schedule. While most schools are playing a conference game before their traditional rival or conference championship game a majority of the sec schools are playing a scrimmage.
    In all seriousness if I can get my point across in text.

    It guarantees 1/2 the teams in every conference that plays the 9 games one more loss than the teams that don’t play the 9th game.
    I get why the sec doesn’t want to do it.
    By avoiding a guaranteed loss for 1/2 the teams they have the chance of being one game better in their record than 1/2 the teams in other conferences. So now at the end of the season when final rankings are being sorted and bowls are being handed out. The sec plays an easy non conference game which in most cases guarantees another win.

    So let’s use this year for example. Say LSU had tennessee on the schedule instead of Texas. You’re cool with that?

    Why not both? Like Tennessee instead of Utah state.

    We play 3 non conference games and one of those is la state. We’ve had usc, Notre Dame, UCLA, Ohio state in the past.
    And we’ve got Bama and uga coming in the future.

    How different is Tennessee than Utah state? At least one team won 10 games last year and didn’t lose to Georgia state. That’s my point. You say the bottom half of the sec is so weak and such cupcakes so what does it matter if we play another conference game if it’s one of the weak ones?

    Because playing that 9th game guarantees one more loss for 1/2 of the teams in the conference. If everyone is playing south west northern rhode island school of the left handed midgets the chances of that happening are greatly diminished.

    La state playing Tennessee is not much different than y’all playing Utah state.

    But a 5-6 vandy playing a 5-6 aggy guarantees that only one of those teams gets a bowl and not both. See how that increases a conferences bowl eligible teams. It’s not about the top 3 teams in the conference it’s about the bottom 6. Again I get why the sec does it and as long as they don’t have to change they won’t. But to claim the greatness of a conference based on bowl appearances is not accurate when everyone isn’t playing by the same requirements. (Again trying to have a serious discussion. Not calling you out specifically)

    No I get you and I totally understand what you’re saying, but why are you so worried about the bottom half? Y’all keep saying the sec bowl record is bad so how does it matter if the bottom half makes it?

    It’s not that I’m worried about it. I’m more into seeing an even playing field. And I’m tired of seeing certain conferences claiming dominance with inflated records.

    But y’all just said earlier the sec bowl record isn’t good so how is it inflated?

    I just see Texas playing Kansas every year for the last however many years the exact same as LSU or anyone in the sec playing any ooc game. No difference at all. It’s the same reason people complain at different times about the crossover permanents in the sec. Alabama has Tennessee who has sucked for a while. Auburn has Georgia. How’s that for fair? So you’re saying Texas gets to keep playing the awful terrible teams in the B12 and now the sec teams have to pick up another sec team?

    If you’re worried about an inflated bowl record, there’s one thing that stops that....fucking beat them in the bowls.

    I’m saying play 3 non conference and 9 conference games. That’s all I’m saying. And the rest will sort it’s self out.

    I’m not making this about specific teams.

    But if you actually consider the specific teams then you’d understand why it makes no difference.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    The best part about Texas is the mixture of cultures. Like how they mix Big 10 offenses with Big 12 defenses and get PAC 12 results.

    Considering it is TN and they have a reputation, I could get behind sipping some white lightning while I watch some college football...not to mention that would definitely take the sting off a little with a loss.

    @stronghammer is right-ish.

    @drifter379 is right-ish.

    We all know anything can happen on Saturday. That's why they play the game.

    We also all know that if you wanna be the man, you've got to beat the man WOOOOOOOO!

    One thing that we've either not considered or possible dont care about, but it hasn't been mentioned is, the quality of athletes as a whole in each conference. I'm not sure if it is viewed as more of an excuse for the SEC, but, I think it is pretty well known that the SEC gets higher rated athletes in general, specifically in football. This trend is correcting somewhat, but there are P5 conferences out there that obviously have less 5 star athletes. Yeah, the SEC didn't fair too well in the first week, we'll see where they end up in November though.

    All that to say, every other conference wants the SEC to put up or shut up. "Yeah you have more 4 and 5 stars, why dont you play against em if you're the best..." Blah blah blah.

    To that, I say, all I need from the SEC conference is for them to beat everyone they play, except Alabama. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. (Hey aTm, go on ahead and pull off that upset this week, we're rooting for you, signed, Alabama...hahaha)

    Thanks. Looks like it is still with Ohio The State then until their next loss.
