I have a 2007 Toyoto Tacoma 4x2. I purchased it in October 2006. Upon getting an oil change the mechanic noticed that the front frame around the front axle and boot it had rusted out. I had an inspection done in 2014 and the dealership told me that all was good and they sprayed the underneath..When I contacted the dealership they told me that the recall was only good till 2018 and I wouldn't get a replacement since the time had passed. I never got any noticed that the recall had been over or to take my truck back for another inspection. Called Toyota Canada and they told me the same. I feel that this is total neglect on their part and that it should be replaced at no cost..Anyone have any idea on what would be my next step? Appreciate any reply

You need to speak to a manager’s manager if you have to.

You brought it in to them and they said it was fine, “sprayed it” and yet here we are. Rusted right through. Doesn’t sound like everything was fine.

In Canada, you had until the latter of July 21, 2019 or 12 years from date of 1st use. Unless your Taco was the very last one sold off the dealers lot in 2007, you are SOL. I took my 2006 Taco up to Canada on July 4, 2019 and was approved 2 weeks later. They said it will be about 4 months til my frame is built.

Let's just say, many people have been in your shoes, and begged, pleaded, and groveled with Toyota Corporate, and I've never seen anyone that got Toyota to say, "OhhhhhKaaaaayyyyy, we'll put a new frame under your truck even though we're not legally obligated to do so."

That inspection was 5 years ago,Toyota will not do a frame swap on your truck now that the recall is over.

You should of been inspecting your frame yourself over the years because of where you live.A shop may be able too patch the frame.Post pictures here on TW for advise.
