Again, this is an awesome unit. I would really like to have it work correctly, and be able to use it. i May get with them to see if they have any suggestions. I have seen that some of the guys with SC2 had the same issues, and replaced the cable, and no issues after. Thing is, the cable came from SC. Most likely will not work with this unit.

I have a 2001. Will these work with my truck? Is the issue with the 2004 also a prob in 2001? If not, is it too late to get in on this deal?

The GB ends tomorrow. You may be in the clear here, but it may be for all of the 2000 model 1st gens.

abs was optional in those years(pre 2003 I believe), so if you have it then yes; if you don't then it won't be a problem

So, I got it. Is this a problem. Does this flashing light mean that the ABS is off? Obviously could be a safety problem.

I will get this if they determine tomorrow my laptop is fixable. If not, the $53 will go towards a new laptop.

I'm not quite sure but i read others that had it said that when the light is on it is disabled, but I'm not positive. The ways to fix it are to unplug and replug it everytime you start the car (PITA) to change a connector in the OBDII port, another PITA, or another way that I can't remember right now that was easier than the others  someone posted it earlier in this thread or the other one

I just checked the Ultra Gauge site and found this information about the ability of the unit to "Force Protocol", and avoid the ABS issue. Our trucks (specifically talking to the other owners of the 1st Gen 03's and 04's) operate on the ISO Protocol, which from what I have found is also referenced as the 9141 Protocol. Check out the information below for the specifics.

    Ultra-Gauge Support Site
    http://ultra-gauge.com/customer_support/knowledgebase.php?article=6

Ultra Gauge Users Manual - Page 31 (Force Protocol Section)
"The Scanning process can interfere with proprietary implementations of the OBD II connector/interface. For example, on some vehicles the traction control light becomes lit, or the speedometer or other gauges may stop functioning, or the check engine light may become lit. Forcing the protocol will prevent this and UltraGauge will repeatedly try only the forced protocol.
Once any of the Forced Protocol menu items are selected, UltraGauge will restart and then communicate with the ECM using only the forced protocol.

If your vehicle is experiencing issues, follow this procedure:
    1. Force the protocol: MENU Vehicle Setup  Force Protocol
    2. Unplug UltraGauge
    3. Start the vehicle
    4. Insure the issue is not present, if present turn of the vehicle and repeat step 3.
    5. turn off the vehicle
    6. Place the ignition in the run position
    7. Re-attach UltraGauge. UltraGauge will then discovery gauges.
    8. Once UtlraGauge has found the available gauges, start the vehicle and ensure the issue has been resolved."

Someone give it a shot and let us know how it works.... (before midnight tomorrow if at all possible, for purely selfish reasons!!!)

I've got 4 more PM's now but I can't take the names down to put them on my list since I am studying right now. But I will do it tonight.

So I think that means we are already over 125.
